Billing Issues and Questions

(I've hope I've got the right thread here if not admins feel free to move this).

I'm a relatively new Bell customer and took advantage of their buy HD receivers and receive a billing credit for each one and have yet to see any credits for the three I bought or an promised self install credit. I've been dilligent in calling Bell each time I've received a bill and received the same "3-6 weeks before they show up" answer for the last three months. The last time I called, I mentioned that I hadn't seen any credits and wouldn't be paying any further bills (since they owe me ;) ) until I see them come through. Anyone care to guess if this tough love approach will pay off?

Cheers!

No Dice:)

You guys aren't helping.

So you were suppose to get $18 for the first 12 months and $100 credit back? did you order off the website? based on just subscribing to basic programming and 2x standard rentals this should be your monthly bill.

$32 Digital Stnd
$1 US Time shift
$3 Digital Service Fee
$3 4100 rental
$3 4100 rental
=================
$42

with the promotions for rentals you should get $10x12, and $5 discount after your service is bundled.

$42 - $10 - $5 = $27

Have you subscribed to anything else other than the standard? Check your bill and see if there's anything else additional than what I posted. I know for rentals as well your required to place a $50 deposit for standard units for a tech to go on site and you get that back as a credit on your first bell tv bill. The only time it's a $100 deposit is if you rented an HD receiver.

I just read your other post, you bought a 6141 unit from Best buy who said that Bell would give you a $100 programming credit. Unfortunately on the Bell website it states it under the offer details, but if Best buy gave you false information then you should take it up with Best Buy.

well he said the loyalty credit was because the 2nd 50% off HBO package wasn't on my bill and neither was the $100 new customer credit. He really had no sale to make from it, I called in to cancel HBO and add 4 HD Themes, he didn't sell me on that I already wanted it.

Anyway, not too worried about the extra $10, will be interesting to see my next bill and hopefully it is indeed set up correctly!

No - Dice be assured the agent couldn't care less about your tough love approach. I don't think it hurts them if you ruin your credit rating and get your TV satellite shut down. They follow a playbook which discourages freelancing. Best thing you can do is ask for further credits when they don't deliver on a promise and keep records.

jay yes I was logged in thats how I could see my account info including the bill amount. but how do you see the details and get past the button that wants you to make an e-bill?

Do they really lower your price if you get an e-bill? Well even if they do I dont want to do it because I want my broker to have a record of everything.

When I pay my bills online they are not reflecting online.. the balance reads 0 on the phone, but about $168 on the website..

is this a known issue?

When our Convergys call centre in Winnipeg had the Bell TV contract, we got a lot of calls from customers in your same situation, Alicuta. Unfortunately, Bell does not train sales clerks at third party vendors like Best Buy at all.

Next time you call Bell TV, ask them if there are any Memos in CSG detailing your new customer acquisition offer. There should be one, since you rental order was processed via IRIS or OrderMax. You must have activated your service within 60 days of the date of the note, if not you lose the offer.

If you want to complain, you can contact the Executive Office, details are available at Bell.ca

I did my order thru the website back in May, based on offert from that time as 18$/months for 12 months and 33$ after plus 10$ credit for 12 months and I have a copy from the website offert. The bill right now shown as:

32$ - digital standard
19$ - premium movie
23$ - 5 themes
3$ - standard receiver
3$ - standard receiver
3$ - digital service fee

10$ credit for 12 months

total bill is 82.49$

How you can see, I get the 10$ credit for 12 months but, NOT the 18$ digital standard and 5$ credit for bundle (I got the phone with BELL too). Also, I payd the 50$ credit on fthe irst bill.
They ignored the 100$ credit for the HD receiver bought by me as per advertized flyer from store. I'm planing to go and check with the store tomorrow.
What I'm surprized is that you know all this staff better then all the BELL reps with which I talked during the 3 months. Are you afiliated with them? Maybe you can help me or PM me a contact to talk with a human being not human robots from India ......

I had an issue similar to this. Instead of going through Bell, I called up my Credit Card company and filled out a dispute for that transaction on my Card as I paid for a service and/or good that I did not receive. My Credit Card company then deal with Bell and credited my Card for that amount.

That is the plus side of using a credit card is they will deal with the vendor if there are disputes and do the leg work for you to get your money back.

Hey there, my finance and I had center ice for 2 years, this year we deecided back in march we did not want this package anymore. So we have called 3 times and each time on the phone we have been told it has been removed, each time our bill shows up in the mail guess what? ITS STILL ON THERE. We just got our bill today and yes ITS STILL ON THERE. Now i know if you do not cancel it buy a certain Month and Date they automatically bill you. The reason we know that is because thats how we ended up with it for a 2nd year. Has anyone had this issue with there's? Any advice because this is Redonkulous and very frustrating.

Thank You

With all the help I've received through this forum I thought I'd try to put some back into it.

I receive my retentions discount percentage every month thanks to the forum. I just received my first 2010 pricing invoice and there's a problem! It's not alot, but the percentage discount has not been adjusted to match the new pricing. On my previous invoices my programming was $121 per month less 35.40 credit (30%). Now on my new invoice the programming is $125 per month but I still only receive the 35.40 credit rather than the proper amount which should be 37.50 - a small difference but worth calling them about I think!

Darn...going over these figures again I haven't been receiving the full 30% even before! LOL

Still...the discount dollar amount never changed - even though the programming increased $4.

Thanks cslusarc for advice. I found a phone number for Executive Office on this forum as 1-866-317-3382 and I'll call them tomorrow.

niftyg are you seeing just the total number or can you see where the total comes from? I'm still trying to find out how to see every part of the bill not just the total.

The 30% discount should be on your programming charges only. Don't know why it wouldn't have increased slightly, but you're still getting a discount that many others haven't.

Hi,

A friend of mine got caught. He bought the second half of the MLB season last year for a hundred bucks just to find out he is now on the hook for the FULL amount for this year and he doesn't want it. Bell will not cancel or refund him, even if he cancels his service all together he is still on the hook for the package he didn't ask for.

Does anyone have any tips that might help him get out of this? I thought negative billing went the way of the dodo years ago, but apparently not.

According to this on page 25, this practice is illegal in Alberta.

I think your a little confused. The $18 package offered to you was just for the digital standard by itself.

$33 without the mentioning the digital service fee
-$10 for the monthly discount ($10x12months promo for rentals)
-$5 for bundling
= $18!

This does not mean you get the digital standard for $18 and then an additional $10 discount every month. The only thing your missing is the $5 bundling discount. I suggest you call them to bundle your service, unfortunately I'm still trying to get mine bundled, but that's a totally different issue all together. As what was explained earlier, the $100 credit is for a new account, you aleady took advantage of the promo for new customers which was the $10x12month discount. You can contact executive office about this, not sure if your going to get it though cause technically Bell hasn't messed up this time.

You are wrong "lightningflik" and be carefully next time about this. You almost convince me with your explanation.
But I would like thanks to everybody for advice.

After a simple call to executive office and sending all the material which I've got they recognized the mistake from Bell side. So I've got 18$ for 12 months and 32$ after + 10$ credit for 12 months + 5$ bundle + 100$ credit for my HD receiver.
Still, after this bad experience I'll move my phone and internet with another provider. Don't want to do free advertise but I found phone and DSL service at 40$ for 12 months and 60$ after, right here in town. Right now I'm paying over 80$ for these with Bell.

Alicuta, I'm glad you got your offers honoured. I did not think that they would give anything more than 1 of the three offers.

If you would have dealt with me when I was a Bell TV CSR, I would have told you tough luck bud: as the offer you thought you were getting is $220 (before taxes) more that what you should have received.

Next time look for the footnote/endnote fine print as every piece of Bell promotional literature uses it.

Glad you got what you were looking for, but the information I provided you was right off their website. It looks like the execs bent over backwards for you.
