Billing Issues and Questions

Looks like my complaint not only got me a 20$ credit, but a waiver on future LPIF charges?? I am pleasantly surprised...

We'll see if the April bill is the same before I start celebrating.

You will probably receive the credit after the second full month of subscribing to the movie channels. I would call at least 2 weeks ahead of the next billing cycle to cancel. Otherwise, another month's service will show up on the next bill. Programming must be terminated before the end of the billing cycle. Bell will not bill partial months for canceled services.

Yeah, It's a PrePaid card, so they actually withdraw the funds at the time of purchase.

nufan, thanks for posting all that info. As a former Bell TV CSR, I can tell you that the next $9.50 credit will post on 9/11. For you information all future promotions will post to your account with the transaction date of the 11th of that month.

If you call after the September 11th you can cancel your premium movies pack as of you next bill from date, October 1st. Note that Bell TV will send you One Bill account you next bill details on or about the 15th of September. Those billing details will include the next $9.50 credit (for the 31 August - 30 September billing cycle), and your third month of service covering 1 October - 30 October. If you remove Premium Movies on 1 October your following statement will show a $19.00 credit as Bell TV bills you 1 month in advance.

I wanted to check to make sure we didnt get charged for the Olympics PPV so I logged on to the Bell website. it tells how much our bill is (altho it's weird because it looks like they didn't charge last month and now its double) but i can't find anyway to see the details. Every time I click on "Bills" it shows a screen where it wants to send bills via email. My bill goes to my broker and I don't want it coming email even though I have a Cdn email address. Isn't there some way I can see the bill online?? Tnx!

As covered in many threads (as this is a common issue) your best reasources are:

a) The "retention" department
b) The Bell executive offices

Either should be able to get your account sorted out with minimal effort.

I think that you are combining offers.

The $18/month offer is Bell TV's regular price of $33/month less $5/month for the Bell Bundle discount and $10/month off as a new rental customer. This $10/month offer for 12 months is not combinable with the $100 off offer for new ORS (out right sale) purchases.

thanks all for the reply. Just to clarify, my next bill I believe will print on the 16th of September. Should I cancel HBO now, or sometime between the 11th and the 16th?? The strange thing is, I signed up to HBO the same time as I started my service on July 31, so not sure why the credit only showed up on the 11th.

I am fine to cancel it whenever but don't want to cancel now if I will miss out on my 2nd month half price. IMO it should have been on the first bill, I was charged full price for 2 months, but only got the 50% credit for 1 :|

Also, is changing service on the website OK to do? Does it take effect immediately?

You must cancel the service before the "Bill Date" on the invoice. To insure that you are not invoiced for the following month, call at least 2 weeks before the Bill Date as the invoices are generated ahead of time.

You have to login to your bell.ca account to view the bill details. You can actually save money by eliminating your paper bill ;)

Getting away from Bell is a great idea!! Good for you!! They are the worst company to deal with no matter what service they provide. Took me three years to resolve a problem with them and their CS is not even worth mentioning!

Maybe if more started to cancel they would smarten up. Their new 9241 is nothing more than a paper weight and is by far the worst piece of hardware on the market.

Good luck with your new provider.

cheers for the info ScaryBob. I called and got a helpful rep, certainly pays to use the "cancel service" line :P

He has set my HBO/MC to cancel at the end of this month, meaning it should not be on my bill since I have paid the 2 months already. I should get my 2nd HBO 50% credit, and my $100 new customer credit all on my second bill this month. He also said he gave me an additional $10 customer loyalty credit?? Kinda weird. I also added 4 HD Theme packs which I wanted to do and they all came through 10 minutes after the call.

Providing my bill looks like he explained it will do, I am happy, I guess the true test is when the next bill prints though, could get messy :)

Thanks again for the help!

Yes, correct: I was a new customer for BELL TV plus I rented two SD receiver in this contract plus I bought myself an HD receiver from Best Buy which didn't have any footnotes about 100$credit programing, like "certain condition apply". I still have the flyer to prove.

ScaryBob is not quite right. If you call before the bill prints for your next cycle, it won't matter. The agent will set it up for the start of the next billing cycle, and you will still see the charge for the following month on your bill. The bill after that will reflect the fact that it was taken off as of the correct billing cycle, and you will see a credit for that.

The agent shouldn't have given you ten dollars. Sounds to me like he did it to make the sale, which is unethical. I hope he gave you accurate information.
