yea, the bathtub scene said it all. I think one reason they changed it is b/c that wasn't the main focus of the movie, and I think they realized it would ruin Ed's character & relationship with Sandra.

I've seen other Burton movies, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. I think he did a great job with the movie. I'm interested in seeing his other work.

btw if anyone wants to read the script you can dl it from www.simplyscripts.com

In the movie, they have a special relationship. It would have disappointed me to see him cheat on her.

I really loved this movie, Ewan McGregor played his role so well.

I haven't seen any of Tim Burton's movies before and I have to say that I'm really impressed with what I saw. The movie was definitely off-beat, but it had great storyline going along with it, which makes it work. I went to see it with my mom, who hates that kind of stuff, and through the movie a couple times I thought, "Mom is probably hating this movie .." but she enjoyed it as well. Lovely film.

I thought this movie was amazing with its fantasy and storytelling, the emotion it really makes you cry and the acting was just stupendous and everything else in it was great, wonderful imagery, it was perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, I'm a big fan of Alison Lohman which is why I chose to watch it lol but I loved all the actors in it.

I hope his mother had a C-section. Two feet and fifteen pounds at birth? OUCH!!!!!!!

Hooray! Saw this film on opening night as I vowed to. Hooked from the first frame - Burton has never put a foot wrong for me. I wasn't sure about Ewan McGregor when I first read he'd be playing the young Edward but I thought he did a great job. Albert Finney was heartbreaking, I really did have a good cry - lots of sniffling in the audience.

And right on cue, there was Danny Elfman's score just making it even more emotional. Those scenes of Sceptre were just lovely, with the shoes and boots tied on the line. Wow, so many images of that movie have stuck in my mind.

I'm really excited about seeing this movie. Anything directed by Tim Burton should be unique and different. I don't LIKE all his films, but most of them...Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhand...basically the ones with him and johnny depp. they work well together. I cannot wait to see big fish!!!

I loved this movie!! Visually it was completely amazing, and even though I don't always like fantasy, this was was the perfect blend of fantasy and reailty. It was quite funny too, in an off-beat sort of way.

Well, this movie is different so it doesn't suprise me at all hat some people don't like it. A lot of people won't but hey, their loss not ours

I never realized how much Jessica & Allison looked alike until I saw the movie. Great casting decision.

My fav part of the movie is when Ed comes back from the war & Sandra is hanging up the laundry. I think it was so sweet. Even though there's no dialogue, the emotion of the scene comes through b/c of the terrific acting. Plus Ewan in uniform....*faints*.

Holy crap really?

I seriously thought he wasnt that tall like the movie and they just did a really excellent job with make up and stuff on him.

This movie was beautiful.

I knew I'd like this movie from the commercials/trailer. It just looked amazing. I finally saw the movie yesterday and was honestly, surprised at how much I loved it. The film was put together perfectly. I find myself in a specific predicament when I go the movies. No matter how much I like the movie, I always seem to look at my watch to see how much time is left. I seem to get bored very easily but this movie was an exception. This is one of the first films that I hadn't even payed attention to the time. It just flowed perfectly and never had a dull moment.

Albert Finney was great. Ewan was amazing as well. I was surprised at how much I loved Jessica Lange in this film. She was just adorable and perfect for the role.

The ending was so emotional. I love this film.

That's really interesting - and I'm glad to hear your thoughts on the book. I might check this book out - sounds good. Thanks :)

I thought the casting was fantastic. Everyone did such a fabulous job - Allison Lohman was great. I could definitely see her as a young Jessica Lange too...

I read the book last summer & then my sis bought it for me last Xmas. The book and the movie have a lot of differences. I like them both, but the only thing I hate about the book is that he goes through with the affair. I thought that took away from Ed & Sandy's relationship.

I use to not read at all, but lately I've been reading a lot more. Whether the book is made into a movie or not I enjoy reading. I do like reading books before or even after seeing a movie just b/c there's more details. Also I liked knowing what the differences were. And if I read a book before seeing the movie I like to see what I can expect from the film.
