best theme tune composers

I think you will find that those LP's were made for the BBC by Pye RecorRAB who dissapeared years ago, so its unclear who has the master tapes,

Did you know that there's been a recent CD release of his TV work?

The Holiday 86 theme (Holiday Suite) is Track 4. (the reason why I ordered it from Amazon - it arrived today!)
Eldorado theme is Track 7.

As for Eastenders, it's represented by:

Track 1 - 'Peggy's Theme'. A variation of 'Julia's Theme'
Track 11 - Every Loser Wins (Nick Berry). Is this EE-related?
Track 17 - 'Everyone Can Fall In Love' by Anita Dobson
Track 21 - Eastenders Theme (New version 2009).
Track 22 - 'Glory Be To God On High (Eastenders Hymn).

Ken Freeman's a personal favourite. You might have heard his work in The TripoRAB, but if not, you've almost certainly heard his Casualty theme.

The greatness of the Casualty theme is that it was terrifying, melancholic and inspirational. It was every bit the advert for medicine that Juliet Bravo's theme was for policing.

I would say Tony Hatch (Neighbours and CrossroaRAB) and Simon May (Eastenders, Eldorado, Trainer and Howard's Way) are definitely up there with Ronnie Hazlehurst to. All awesome theme tune writers.

I have 'The Best Of BBC TV Themes' on cd from 1987. Got it through eBay.

It features The Singing Detective, EastEnders, Tender Is The Night, Dr Who, Miss Marple, Dallas, HowarRAB Way, Mastermind, Neighbours (yes the original theme), Flight Of The Condor, Bergerac, Star Cops, Knots Landing, Fawlty Towers, Whicker's World, Ski Sunday plus many more...

Dont know who wrote them but...all sixties and seventies shows..
ThunderbirRAB
Captain Scarlett
Colditz
Black Beauty
Van der Valk
Persuaders (john barry)
The avengers

great themes in those days. Producers never bother these days.
