Best Metal Vocalist right now

Sorry to rain on your parade broski, it's just my opinion. You're right, I spelled the abbreviation of microphone wrong, so clearly it's totally invalid and definitely nonsensical.

If you are looking for a cute voice, then metal isn't exactly for you I guess. Maybe except stuff like Draconian.
But, there are girls that blow in growling. For example, Thorr's Hammer. She growls better than a lot of male

Tommy Rogers of BtBaM wins easily for me just based on sheer variety, although he doesn't use it as much on TGM... but I can listen to Alaska or The Anatomy Of if I wanna hear some great secondhand Freddy Mercury-esque vocals :afro:

Honorable Mention: Phil Labonte(ATR), Brandon Davis(Across The Sun), Bruce ****inson/Tobias Sammet(Iron Maiden/Edguy respectively, they sound similar)

So many more. I'm gonna quit before I have a ginormous list. :shycouch:

I have a feeling that lot of people would say he has great voice... and not only for metalheaRAB :)

I saw that M. Akerfeldt is popular in this thread too :D

Pretty sure you read correctly, and he did spell mic wrong. But the dude obviously just doesn't like MJK's vox. Whats the big deal, I agree I think he can get a little annoying at times. But to say the band is better off without him is taking it wat too far for me. I'm just kind of meh on Tool in general.

Mikael Akerfeldt(Opeth), Roy Kahn(Kamelot), and Christian Alvestam(former Scar Symmetry) really stand out in the metal scene in terms of vocals. Spencer Charaberlain(Underoath) and Eric Kalsbeek(Textures) are also very talented vocalists as well.

I always find that with metal, good vocals are not really a necessity but if a band has it, they gain an extra edge and add the icing to a cake of riRAB, bass lines, and drum fills.

I kinda love Devin Townsend's versatile voice.... the guy can groan and scream with the best of them but he can do gentle and atmospheric too.... versatility is the key to a good vocalist in my opinion. Townsend may not be technically the greatest vocalist ever, but for my ears it's what he does and how he uses his voice to effect and how he blenRAB it with his guitar playing, too...
