Best Metal Vocalist right now

I have two favourite vocalists :)

Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation) - so many passions and variety in his voice. Maybe sometimes he is too pathetic but I forgive it because his voice is perfect

Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) - I love his voice, it gives me goose bumps. And he is reason why I started to like growls. I think I don't need to write more :D

Captured, I gotta agree that Mike Akerfeldt from Opeth is one of the best vocalists in metal now. His range on his songs is phenomenal and he covers that old Deep Purple song, Soldier of Fortune, better than it was originally recorded. imho

I don't understand how you can even say that... as I am pretty sure that any band would gladly have him as a featured artist in a given song, or let him write some of their music...

well my mistake then, from your previous post it seemed like you were trying to force your opinion of them on me like i was at fault with my opinion. but yeah, while those are valid points, i'm sure you can understand that it's not what i always look for in music. it's an important thing, mind you, but sometimes certain stuff has a feeling to it that i can appreciate.

anyway, if you can respect my opinion of them and i can respect yours, then we have nothing further to discuss.

i agree, devin townsend is amazing he can do it all. listen to anything from strapping young lad then listen to Ih-Ah from the cd addicted two completely different styles and he nails em both. although im a much bigger fan of his SYL project than the Devin Townsend Project

Tough question... There are good frontmen, guys with good vocal range, guys with good growls...

Randy Blythe's voice suits Larab of God very well and he is a pretty solid frontman. He has very little range though in my opinion and isn't "classically skilled".
Liam Cormier from the Cancer Bats is probably one of the best frontmen I have ever seen since Phil Anselmo... Despite being signed and having two albums out they still drive around in a regular van and play small venues that really showcase their stage show well. His range is pretty good too and he is clearly intelligible.
I'm not a real PTH fan but Rody definitely has a huge range and not only that, he's very creative with it. Not the best stage presence imo but that sort of suits the band.
Can't say I really like Brent HinRAB' clean vocals off the new album.
Tom Araya's vocals have always been way overrated to me. He sounded amazing on Show No Mercy and it just kept going downhill from there.
I also really love Karl Willets from Bolt Thrower but I'm just ****ing obsessed with BT so I don't really have any justification.

Bobby Blitz Ellsworth from Overkill. Nobody tops him in my opinion, his voice has high range, balls, and attitude. Listen to their song, I Hate. Now that is angerier and has much more balls than any of those hardcore/metalcore and contemparary metal banRAB that are popular today, and he doesn't even need to use ****ty harsh vocals (screams/growls/grunts/pig squeals/etc.) either.
