Best facial expressions you've seen in animation (56k warning)

Well if you want a facial expression, that makes anyone go nuts, it's perhaps this one:

Yes Kim Possible and her infamous Puppy Dog Pout, and for that entire 4 season run we've seen not only Kim use the pout, but also:

her Mom (at least Twice!)

and then there's her boyfriend Ron and his Hairless buddy, Rufus, (In Season 4's Car Alarm)

and yes, even her arch Nemesis, Shego (As Miss Go) in Season 4's Stop Team Go! used the Pout!

But when you break it all down, Kim's final pout in Graduation, and it's perhaps this Pout that makes it classic KP. It's the look that says, "Plllease?".

So in the end, if you think that this look isn't contagious, well then think again.. It's perhaps now the most used look ever... and to think... it all started with this:

Because perhaps in the end, The Pout is the way to anyone's heart.. I mean those Puppy dog eyes, that quivering lip..it really hits home..

Ah yes, you mean this expression:

Shego: Oopsie!

But I think if you want something funnier from Shego, Try Mother's Day.. with this look:

Shego(Thinking of Momma Lipsky's Comment about her and Drakken): ICK!

Now that... Is good Facial expression if I ever saw one..

Please! This is completely ridiculous!

What's BIZZARE in that Tex Avery shot? Or Itch In Time? Well some of the anime stuff was just bizzare but I think they are just funny at it. WHat are you pointing out?

There's nothing subtle in this. It's just that guy screaming. It's a formulatic expression. The Deeper Meaning, where?

About Homer, I like Simpsons expressions and designs. Just that blank stare I don't get. That scene had GOOD TIMING, not good expressions. The later posted ones are great and indeed subtle.

Whilst you're welcome to have an opposing opinion and I'd even agree one or two examples posted are kinda iffy, I'd polietly ask you to calm down please. You're starting to act like if you don't like it it doesn't count and such behaviour doesn't really help the discussion.

That comment was so cynical. And presented as a fact. That can really annoy me.

I guess I'll just stop slapping things I don't like, it's not really healthy

This, when Gohan is enraged at the Cell Jrs. defeating his friends and transforms into the SSJ2. :anime:

I'm surprised by the lack of Ren and Stimpy mentions. Expressions are what John K. is best at (even Adult Party had some interesting expressions despite the fact the rest of the show was a total wreck).

Actually I'd say Chuck Jones is a better example. He was a master at facial expressions. Clampett was a master at exaggerated, cartoony movement (though to be fair, he did have some good expressions too- "The Great Piggy Bank Robbery" being a fine example).

I think the real John K would have a field day with those American Dragon screenshots. You say they convey the stress, power and emotion of the episode, but all I see are the same stock, angular faces with nothing more than a change in eyebrow placement. I'm not dumping on it, I'm just giving my opinion. IMHO, there's nothing interesting about those expressions.

By far, the funniest expressions I've seen in a modern day cartoon - that doesn't include Spongebob, FOP, Ren and Stimpy or anything Anime-related - are from the Tom and Jerry Tales Episodes directed by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone.

This is what makes a real cartoon character :D

^^It's a real shame production stopped on Tom and Jerry Tales. IMHO it was the only thing worth watching on KidsWB since Animaniacs was canceled. I was eager to see what a third season would have turned out like. Too bad we'll never know now.

Yeah you know, I didn't see anyone commenting about Ed, Edd, n' Eddy.

I actually completely forgot about that show for this thread.

That show has some awesome expressions. I wish I could find a large screenshot gallery to study from.
