Best Emotional Scene

I dunno, but the first thing that comes to my mind is Glengarry Glen Ross. The whole movie is one big emotional avalanche.
 
The Green Mile - The scene where they put John Coffey to death and electrocute him, God that scene was sooooo very sad I cried like a baby and I rarely cry..

Thelma & Louise - The last scene was really sad :( made me cry.

and the episode of Star Trek - The Offspring (TNG) this is not a movie but still it was sad..

These are the only times that I cried while watching tv and I mean really cried..
 
Minority Report: When the PreCog was at Tom's and his wifes house and was telling them how their sons life would've been if he had lived...{{sigh}}. The first thing she says is "Theres so much love in this house" and after she's finished telling them she says, "There was so much love in this house" and the lights coming through the window behind her. It was just a visually and emotionally beautiful scene. I would've cried if I hadn't been in the theatre.

Magnolia: When the gay character(can't remember his name or the guy who played him's name either) is in the bar with the bartender he has a crush on and he crying and he say's "I have so much love to give, and nobody to give it to" or something like that. I felt so bad for him.
 
The Red Balloon - When the little boy is crying over his balloon that the other boys burst and suddenly all the balloons of Paris come floating towards him and he grabs them all and they take him up, up and away.

The Kid I think every single scene of this Charlie Chaplin film.

Last of the Mohicans When Hawkeyes brother and Cora's sister die falling off the mountain, the look in the sisters face and the fathers pain..and the music! Probably THE most emotional scene ever.

The Princess Bride When Weasly and Buttercup meet up and kiss after rolling down the hill :lol:
 
Mystic River, the whole movie was emotional but the best scene was were hes saying he cant even cry about the death of his child, it was just heart breaking.
 
Also, in Radio there were many parts in it that made me cry. Especially when he("Radio") is on the floor sobbing about his mother's death and you can tell he trashed the house. :(
 
i was hysterical crying when emile hirsch's character was reading from the bible or giving a speech at kieran culkan's character funeral...
 
Oh that scene gets me everytime. I'm always like Jo, don't go to the window, like that's going to make a difference.
 
I thought the scene in Monsters Ball, where the gaurds are coming to get Sean Combs(Puff Daddy) to bring him to be executed and he's holding onto the bars and they have to pry his fingers off.

I thought that was sad.

I can't watch Requiem for a dream, it's so devastating. When Sara gets the invitation for the game show and she's so happy, ugh, it's so depressing.
 
Revolutionary Road when Frank & April are fighting & Frank as he's yelling begins crying "What are you doing in my house if you hate me so much?!!" he was obviously very hurt & angry at the same time, which those two emotions when escalated are like liquid fire, lol. Leo did so excellent in this movie.
 
Moulin Rouge = tear jerker extraordinaire.



Aww, this. When I was little this used to make me cry so hard. I couldn't understand why she had to leave and he couldn't go with her.

And also in the film Ghost when Sam says, "It's amazing, Molly. The love inside, you take it with you." and when he finally told her he loved her instead of just saying "Ditto." The, of course, once Sam tells Molly that, she says "Ditto."

I definitely second this - it makes me cry every single time.

I know this is really dumb, but I think the seen in Homeward Bound when all the pets come home is really emotional. Pet movies always really get to me.
 
the part of cruel intentions where sebastian lies and tells annette that she was just a conquest. you know, the slap was completely impromptu, and it was apparently so intense and emotional, that ryan phillippe threw up after filming?
 
Anyone seen Lilja 4-ever? Man, that whole movie kills me, its terribly depressing. I don't think I can stomach watching that again, everything about it was just so sad. Fantasizing about a better life and knowing that nothing good can come out for the character even though you so desperately hope so. Also her friendship with the young boy and knowing his tragic circumstances and outcome. It's so powerful, you really want to help these people because they're just so young and you just can't. And situations like this are still so common in the world.

Also Dancer in the Dark. Its like witnessing a train wreck, everything is just so stacked up against her until the very tragic ending. Bjork apparently found it really difficult to film because she was so emotionally attached to her character.

On a more touching scale, the final memory in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is just gorgeous. "Come back and make up a goodbye at least. Pretend we had one". Its so emotional and it absolutely melts me.
 
I agree...if people say Claire Danes can't act...first of all they're ridiculous, second of all I'd tell them to go watch 'My So Called Life' or that scene in 'Romeo and Juliet'. If that girl can do anything...she can emote...like cry and stuff.

There was great emotional scenes all throughout The Notebook...and I love the breakup scenes in both 'Jerry Maguire' and 'Say Anything' (and 'the Notebook'). All ridiculously sad.
