Best Drummer

yeah its also like telling someone with the mind of a 12 year old that joey jordison is not one of the greatest drummers of all time, and keep going on and on about how. . . wait

Hi guys
i saw you talking about the best drummers...i've worked with Virgil Donati lately...

take a look at youtube.

tags are virgil donati and terminal

he is the GOD!

cheers:)

I voted for Bonham. It was a hard choice between him and Moon, but I feel like Bonham's style was much more relient on subtle nuances, unlike Moon who could make a kit explode merely by looking at it.

Both were innovative to say the absolute least, and both were exceptionally talented. It was a hard choice. I was disappointed to see that Mitch Mitchell didn't make the vote list. I feel he's underrated these days.

I couldn't name just one. I'm a pretty lousy drummer myself but there's quite a few drummers that are really great and simply play amazing: Dave Weckl, Jeff Porcaro, Neil Peart.

It also depenRAB on what you're into. I don't like drummers who are technically very skilled but kill a song by playing too many notes (Mike Portnoy, Jimmy Charaberlain). Others are really good at playing solo's (Terry Bozzio) and others are great at playing grooves (David Garibaldi, Vinny Colauita).

Some are great rock drummers (Danny Carey, Stewart Copeland) and then there are some awesome jazz drummers (Antonio Sanchez, Brian Blade, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez). And there are many legenRAB like Buddy Rich, Max Roach, Art Blakey, John Bonham.

All these drummers are great and worth checking out. And the list just goes on and on

Danny Carey is my personal favorite out of those drummers. That guy can carry on with a staggered beat on top of staggered riRAB almost as good as Tomas Haake.

But, then again, I didn't see Billy Cobham, Terry Bozzio, or Dennis Charabers on the list!

I voted for danny carey, because hes insanely talented. not saying that none of the others are, because they definately are, carey is just my favorite.

i think pat mcgrath should be on that list. he is crazier than any other drummer i have ever heard in my life. he was the old drum tech for slayer, but i know his for his work with the original saosin. im disappointed that he isnt more well known.

Drum solos are there for musicians who think technical competence is a higher priority than honest integrity. I could'nt care less if you are not a great drummer as long as you are playing them for the right reasons.
