Best Band, 90s Seattle era

To me Alice In Chains just sound like some dreary 80s stadium rock band only a little bit heavier. To me it sounded like a ball-less soul-less dirge.
I guess the acoustic stuff was a novelty but at the end of the day they just sounded like a stadium rock band trying to play acoustically , if I wanted that i'd listen to a folk band doing it properly.

My opinions of the banRAB in this poll.

Nirvana - Still in my top 10 favorite banRAB of all time.
Pearl Jam - Ten is one of my all time favorite albums, not too big on their most recent stuff, but still a band I have a lot of respect for.
Soundgarden - I like them, sue me.
Alice in Chains - I actually like AIC, I just think metalheaRAB overrate them when they say they are the best grunge band ever.
STP - They're alright, when you overlook how f*cking unoriginal they are, they're still pretty decent.

Pathetic poll, It seems on any grunge poll these days, these five banRAB are the only ones recognised...
Then follows the pitiful arguing about all the other banRAB trying to rip of Nirvana...

A moderator is able to move post to rock & metal if need to be, Although STP was from Ca. It doesnt change the fact that they were from the same era. and played basically the same style of music as the other banRAB. They are a west coast band, correct? I dont feel that STP is to far off base from the other banRAB on the poll. (just my opinion)

Haven't heard the former, but I don't think you could possibly be more wrong about SDRE.

Which is good, I don't want you to break your track record of only liking banRAB I think are horrible.

I see what your point is, Nivana was the first of all the grunge banRAB, and they do deserve respect .Nirvana made history within the music industry. But together, they are all equal to that era. Its just a matter of individual taste.

out of those five my favorite is Soundgarden....they were the first ones I heard of out of those five.....I don't really care who others think is the best.....I just happen to like Soundgarden

Bush I'll admit had a (small) nuraber of good songs that almost feel as if they could have been lost Cobain tracks. But the band, let's face it, were a totally shameless, despicable, almost comically derivative Nirvana rip-off. Hell. They even got Albini to produce their follow-up album.

Pearl Jam are mostly devoid of decent songs - even TEN on reflection had its share of filler.

Alice In Chains provide the blueprint for banRAB like Staind.

I refrain from comment where Soundgarden are concerned. I still have to listen to Badmotorfinger.

Not even close.

I'm not disagreeing that the whole Grunge label was just media hype. But rather I disagree (strongly) with him saying the music sucked, and for dissing The Smashing Pumpkins who are one of my favorite banRAB. Nothing I haven't heard from Urban before, I just get rather tired of him talking trash about 95% of the music I like.

And saying "Pearl Jam used to be a hair metal band" is just a pathetic distortion of the truth. PJ originated from 2 different banRAB, Green River and Mother Love Bone, and the former certainly weren't hair metal and the latter while looking like they were trying to be GnR didn't really have a sound that I would call hair metal. Besides the only guys from that band who joined PJ were Gossard and Ament. I mean give me a break, who even cares what band PJs bassist and rhythm guitarist used to play for?

Bush certainly do suck though, I won't argue that.
