Is this a pipe dream for us up in the Great White North?

ESPN 3D is a newly announced channel that will show around 85 live sporting events in 3D during its first year, launching on June 11 with the first 2010 FIFA World Cup match. Other events will include the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, various college basketball and football games, and the Summer X Games. You'll need a new 3D-capable HDTV and those dorky 3D glasses.

My most recent bill includes a note saying that TCM is being added to my Premium Movies Pack as of March 2nd. It also says, "To accommodate this change, WSBK will no longer be a part of this package and will be moved to the Family 1 Theme Pack." Love that misuse of the word "accommodate", as if they had to remove a channel from the package to make room for the new one.

How about Showtime as a next offereing for Bell ?

I keep reading about all these posts that want more and more sports channels ? Don't we have enough sport channels already ? How many golf, football, hockey channels do we need ? They seem to be everywhere....let's get more variety TV.....

A LA CARTE may dissapoint many of you.

When CNNi became available, it was not added to the A LA CARTE selections.

It was made available as an add-on with BNN for 3$.

AlJazeera seems to be the same thing, 3$ with I-Channel.

Also, A LA CARTE does not include Speed, NFL Network, Game Show Network or WSBK.

I was looking at a Future Shop Flyer today and right under the ad for Bell TV PVR's there are 5 logos from 5 different Networks. There was one there with a CBC Logo and beside it said Sports Extra. Does anybody know if the CBC is going to be launching a Sports Channel.

The problem is that some people spend more time looking for issues than they do enjoying TV. I am not saying that this is bad or wrong, just that there will be a certain percentage of people that want/expect the picture to be perfect.

You are now able to scroll through these channels and see exactly what events will be available on them at what times. I saw plenty of hockey games being shown in their entirety in my look through.

Plus, I simply called 1866-68-ORDER last night and now all 5 channels are unlocked and ready. Looks like Bell has done a great job on this.

I am a little disappointed that the 5 Olympic channels seem to be PPV and say: "call to order event"!

I don't remember us having to order anything in the last Olympics.

Does anyone know if these will be free (sorta like the concerts they used to have...ppv but free)?

Anyone know of any plans for E ! (the AMERICAN version, of course, not any insipid Canadian watered-down version) ?
Is any channel on Bell`s grid carrying CHELSEA LATELY - the late-night talk shpw by Chelsea Handler on E!

Thanx

Bell doesn't make money simsubbing. It is a requirement by the CTRC.

Back OT (again)... I still want SPEED HD!

It seems 1408, Sportsnet W HD has gone 24/7. It used to be only active for hockey games.

I like the idea of WSBK being added to the Family 1 theme pack. Thats another US Superstation that I can get without subscribing to one of the Premium Movie Packs.

The following information appears on my Jan 2010 Bell TV Bill:

We don't need Showtime USA, we already get the best programming they have to offer imported by the likes of TMN, Showcase and others. Just like we didn't need TMN to re-brand two of their channels HBO Canada. We didn't get anymore HBO programming as a result and thank goodness because not all of it is good. We are still getting the best from HBO US just like we did before.

All I hear is we need this and we need that. Well, we got AMC and it's the biggest disappointment of the bunch. Stretched/distorted picture in HD cut up like Swiss cheese for a puritan viewership and tons of commercials thrown in between about stuff that's relevant in the USA only that I don't give a **** about.

WE DON'T NEED MORE CHANNELS! We need the channels we already have to deliver better quality programming. If we get more channels it only gives the cable and satellite companies the opportunity to divide up those channels into more and more programming packages forcing us to pay more and more for those channels that are delivering TV programming that is increasingly being diluted across more and more channels with more and more useless programming thrown in as filler.
