so you hate t-mobile since they won't allow you to do a workaround on a set of plans they have clearly put in place and even warned you ahead of time to save you on skyrocketing your bill?

oh those evil bastards.

Agreed. A plan is a plan. A sidekick plan is designated for a Sidekick, and a Blackberry plan is designated for a BB. I don't understand the need for a workaround I guess... No reason to hate T-Mobile though...

1) IP-Relay and i711 Relay are not offered on the BB (the BB has to be connected to a TTY to use relay services). With the SK, you can download the application from the catalog (free) and type to a relay operator just like you are instant messaging someone. That relay operator voices what you type, to the hearing person, and then types back to the Deaf/HOH person what the hearing person on the other end of the phone is saying.

2) I am not working yet. I was asking this because I am thinking of going thru vocational rehabilitation to purchase the SK3 for college/work since they fund wireless devices for people with disabilities. If they don't fund it, I will have to foot the bill to purchase the SK3 on my own.

I have a Get More Plan right now but I don't want to add that to the line and have a bill I can't afford. My only other option, if I wanted data on both devices, is to port the BB to Cingular and then switch my T-Mo BB plan to the SK plan once I get the SK.

It won't work on prepaid like everyone else is saying. But if you just want the blackberry for just data only you ca put it on a conract for 30$ a month. Or you can put it on a voice and data plan. It would be the voice plan cost plus the 20$ for the data. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

does opera mini really work with a tmo prepaid plan? i tryed and it couldnt make a connection with TMO. SO in the end theres no real way to have a BB pearl prepaid and still get MOST of the things BB has to offer?

anyone with a sidekick just all of us a favor and put your SK sim card into your BB pearl and tell us if it works because if so the pre-paid should be that different. At least i think...

i guess its mostly because of them service books that are nessacery in order to do anything with any BB. Theres probably no way to get them through a pre-paid plan

it should not work bb data plan is totally diff. service books config, it's a totally diff data plan.
tmo has a data plan and a diff bb data plan for a reason.

I sort of get what you're saying the reasoning is behind not being able to get internet on your prepaid Blackberry but why couldn't you just use one of those Prepaid internet cards you can get at most large drug stores now and, I guess, a wireless card?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~hey erica IP relay is available on bb. They have one that you can dl for your bb! Go to their site! I have it on my bb I'm not really sure why. I'm not deaf. But thought it was a nice application to have. I do have a friend who is but he never uses it!
