Baz is the best director!!! I hope he keeps making more movies cuz i know i will keep watching them. My favourite is Moulin Rouge, just b-cuz of all the dancing and stuff in it.
I haven't seen much of Baz's stuff. Only R+J and Strictly Ballroom, but I thought they were both fantastic films!!
I was in English and my class were watching R+J and we were at the end when they kill themselves. We got to the bit when it was really quiet after she had woken up and he had died, then she cried and made that really loud noise, and almost everyone in the room jumped! Richard Shortman actually hit his leg on the table and made it move!!
In the college interview, the man who was interviewing me asked me about my interests and why I love film. Things of that nature. Anyway, because he brung up film, I started to talk about Baz Luhrmann and how much I adored him. HOwever, instead of stopping and changing the subjsct, I went on and on about him. Not the best move on my behalf.
Anyway, the point is that I was talking about Baz not to BAz himself.
Are we ok now?
I have 3 DVDs of Moulin Rouge and one VHS, plus 2 dvds of Romeo and Juliet. I bought a copy of MR on DVD when it first came out and decided I wanted to be able to watch it in my room...so ibought a used copy at Blockbuster on VHS. Then, I wanted to watch it on my DVD Rom to make screen caps, and didn't want to risk my other one getting ruined, so I bought a used DVD copy at Blockbuster. Now, I have the Red Curtain Trilogy
Romeo and Juliet, I bought the Special Edition when it first came out. I have a lot of DVDs that I am going to take to a DVD place and sell. They keep coming out with Special Editions with 2 discs or more and I love those.
Has anyone else seen Baz's Chanel No. 5 commercial starring Nicole Kidman and Rodrigo Santoro? It's simply the most exquisite, amazing and beautiful commercial I've ever seen. Like Baz says, it's definitely a mini-film. It's a must-see for Moulin Rouge! lovers especially - you'll see why.
