Batman Begins

I thought the death of the parents was done really well, it truly was a shocking, life altering experience for a little boy. I know what you're saying but I think also 'origins' films, if they're the first of a series, always suffer like this. Spiderman 2 was much better, the Goblin stuff in the first was wasted really because it was squeezed into the half a film that was left. Always preferred Superman 2 to 1 and, of the Tim Burtons, I preferred the second film. In all these films you can see the film makers have found their feet as it were. Hopefully the next Batman will just crack on with a good story and a nasty villain.

Doubt that will happen either.

I was thinking they should have the penguin in one of them as a mob boss rather than a freak, it wouldn't have to be a mjor part either, just an introduction for Dent "The Cobblepot trial".

To be fair, the previous Batman movies aren't part of this series of films... think of these Batman movies as a reset.... almost a wiping the slate and starting a fresh...
having multiple Harvey Dent's isn't a problem then...

After all, it is called Batman Begins

HATED IT!!! HATED IT!!! HATED IT.loved the Tim Burton films even if they did stray from the origin and i didn't think Batman Forever was that bad even though Joel Schumacher was involved but this new film makes Batman & Robin look good and i thought that was impossible. I know it's Batman Begins but god when did the film get going it was so boring and Christian Bale is terrible, Gary Oldman is wasted, and Michael Caine as Alfred thats the worst bit of casting ever.
If they are gonna make anymore Batman films then please god let someone adapt Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

SINCE WHEN HAS BATMAN EVER DROVE SOME CLUNKY TANK THING BRING BACK A SLEEKER BATMOBILE.

Why would anyone listen to WeatherfieldWil's comments on Batman, when he obviously likes Coronation Street, seems that he'd have been too young (at least mentally) to go see this film before the A was added to the number 12, and blatantly does not actually understand that Batman is, and always has been about Bruce Wayne, and not the Batman character.

Michael Keaton's Batman portrayal was full of flaws, as was the written character of the Joker (even though it was played rather well). It was too cartoony and didn't actually get into the minRABet of Bruce Wayne. We accept that he is a multi millionaire who someone, secretly made all of this equipment and became the Bat man? The problem with the original Batman film, is its all action, and not enough story, and Batman in the comic book form has always been about paranoia and psychology.

I haven't seen this film yet, but after seeing and owning Memento, I have great hopes for it.

that 10 min set of clips is very disappointing. what's with batman's voice? sounRAB very deep/fake/strange. and the batmobile is as per the spoilers that have been going round for the last year - very poor. those clips dont do anything other than suggest it could be a very mediocre film. there's nothing in there that has the 'wow' factor - prior to seeing that 10mins I was looking forward to going to the flicks now I might wait for the DVD.

No Uma, never!

And to the guy who said Batman never driven a clunky tank like thing.... erm... yes he has (check out "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Millar... if you don't like that then I'm afraid all hope is lost). And remember this movie was suppossed to be grounded in realistic sesibility. It would not make sense for a vigilantie to drive a nice sleek sexy machine, you need to look at the practicalities of it and a 20ft long car is not practical, however nice it may look.

The Batmobile is currently here in the UK doing promotion work, you can see it in the flesh on July 3rd at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby at the 'Sunday Thunder' event where it will be on display and also doing some demo laps on the racetrack.

Sorry to interrupt the movie discussion ;)

Yeah Peej Kerton is right as the ending of Batman Begins shows that this Batman film is a restart so another actor to play Harvey Dent will make no difference at all!
Especially as you didnt have the true history of the Harvey Dent character in the previous Batman films as in one film he is Harvey Dent in Batman played by Billy Dee Williams then in Batman Forever he is Two Face played by Tommy Lee Jones. So we definatly need to see his transformation into Two Face!

But it was taken from Frank Millers Batman Year one!!!

it was a brilliant movie telling us how he got his training and how he maged to get all his stuff to become Batman!! all the actors did a fine job in this and i hope ther is more to come!!

I am!! :D It's meant to be the definitive version of Batman, that actually does the comics justice, completely ignores the crap that came before it, even tho Batman and Batman returns were "OK". *Geek dribble*

I went to see Batman Begins for the second time on Sunday and really enjoyed it again the second time. It is defaintly the best film that has come out this summer!
I will also defianlty be buying it on DVD when it comes out in october!

HBO's sneak peak of the movie is here, *think that worked* really looking forward to this movie :D Etccarmageddon, I thought the voice he puts on for batman is good, he can't go around speaking like he normally does or his secret identity is shafted, as for the batmobile, doesn't have the sporty look of the previous ones but I still want one :D

I was seriously disapointed!!!!

It didnt feel like a Batman movie, it was very slow.
I like the main actors but it just didnt gel for me.
How can they change the murder of his parents to not involve the Joker like it had in the original film?!
There were no enemies, except the Scarecrow who was in it for 2 minutes, the other films were jammed packed with colouful baddies.

Tho it looks like they are gona have another Joker film as they ended on his calling card.
