Batman Begins

I simply didn't buy Katie Holmes character at all..

She's too young to be seen as Bruce's "Love interest", and far too young & innocent to be some hard assed DA. Ignoring the fact that she's basically replaced "Harvey Dent" in the Batman Universe, she's a character the film simply doesn't need.

Oldman is criminally underused as is Rutguer Hauer. Hopefully the followup will have more to it, now that the foundations of the origin story have been laid.
 
Batman-on-Film.com is reporting an unconfirmed rumour that actress Isla Fisher might be considered for a role in the Batman Begins sequel. The rumour is that Fisher could be Bruce Wayne's new love interest in the sequel!
 
Katie Holmes character has not at all replaced Harvey Dent in the Batman Film universe. Her character will appartently be used in the sequel to introduce the character of Harvey Dent!
I would have prefered it if they could have had Talia who is Ra Al Ghul daughter in the comics as Bruces love interest in Batman Begins!
 
Yeah Daveydje you are right Jason Todd was killed off by the Joker in the Death In The Family story in the comics. Then Tim Drake was brought in afterwarRAB as the third Robin!
 
Ahh.. well as long as there's plans for Harvey it's all ok.
Write Holmes out as soon as possible into the next one though please Mr Nolan.

Would have liked to have seen Talia myself, but that could lead to whole Son of the Bat story line and complicate things too much. :)
 
Cillian Murphy was asked whether we will see him play Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow again in a sequel to Batman Begins."I'd love to," he said if Warner Bros is making sequels. "Yeah, I'll do another one. I guess it has to hit certain figures."He says the studio signed him for more films. "They have options on us, yeah."
 
Is this actually any good? My Sister Got er.............well let's just say a early advanced....copy from 1 of her frienRAB but I'm not gonna watch it (as I ain't risking wrecking my DVD players/drives whatever) I'll wait to it properly comes out (providing it's good of course)
 
After seeing Christain Bale in American Psycho I believe he is the perfect choice to play Bruce Wayne/Batman. I cant wait to see this film and I cant believe it is less than an month untill its released. Batman Begins I believe will be the dark horse of the summer blockbusters!
 
I looked on google news earlier generally excellent reviews all round only complaints were it perhaps takes itself a little too seriously.

Think Bale is always excellent though so should do it justice.

Also what exactly is Katie Holmes role apart from druming up faux publicity?
 
You dont have to go straight into that storyline as we could have seen the relationship between Talia and Bruce develop over the series of film. When I first heard that Katie Holmes was cast in Batman Begins I thought that they were going to introduce Talia!
 
Batman Begins producer Charles Roven has been talking about who is back for the sequels. He said that Katie Holmes is going to be back as Rachel Dawes. He also confirmed that Michael Caine,Gary Oldman and Christian Bale are back for the sequels. Appartently though they are still "We're waiting for Chris Nolan to declare himself. We will do it after he does that"
 
It is very good and I would say the best comic book film yet!
I agree with Daveydje that Batman doesnt need a love interest apart from either Catwoman or Talia who I would love to see in the sequels!
 
Also Steve Carrell has said that there is no truth in the rumours about him playing the Joker in the next Batman film which may have come from the fact that he is currently working with Batman Begins producer Charles Roven on the film Get Smart. He said "I just heard that for the first time this morning and I had no... Yeah! That would be hilarious - I would love to do that! But I doubt that it's true. (Laughs) ... No, he's [possibly Charles Roven] never said anything about that, so I think that's probably completely fabricated. But I love it. I love the rumor. That would be cool. (laughs)" So lots of false rumours going around at the moment about the Batman Begins sequel!
 
On DVDanswers,com they state that Warner has officially announce two editions for Region 1 version of Batman Begins. Both the single-disc, and double-disc deluxe DVD's will be available to own from the 18th October this year. Both discs will carry a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation, along with English and French Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. The only extras on the single-disc will be a Batman Begins Mobile Game Demo and some Weblinks. The two-disc deluxe edition will carry that, along with a Genesis of the Bat: Batman Incarnations from the Mid-1980s to the Present doc, a Journey Begins: Creative Concepts, Story Development and Casting featurette, a Shaping Mind and Body: Fighting Style featurette, a Gotham City Rises: Production Design featurette, a Cape and Cowl: The New Batsuit featurette, and another featurette on the new Batmobile.
