Batman Begins Sequel

Another great film IMO.....30 mins too long tho. Critics are saying TDK is about 20 mins too long. Can anyone that has seen it comment?

Filming's starting!

The Chicago Post Office is being used as the Gotham National Bank, where a stuntman dressed as a clown, one of The Joker's goons, will perform a robbery and escape via the window!

Great film, but the last 20 minutes drag, sadly. I reckon they should have split it into two films, this one ending at around the 90 minute mark (when you see it you'll realise why it could end there). As it stanRAB, the first 90 minutes are the best Batman film, maybe the best comic book film EVER, no exaggeration!! If you like bright colours, green/purple suits, people swinging on webs etc. this is NOT that movie. It's DARK.

As a whole I think it only just beats Batman Begins. Both films have the same problem of blowing it in the last 20 minutes. The thing that makes TDK stand above is Heath Ledger as The Joker. It's every bit as brilliant as it's hyped up to be - a maniacal twisted-and-yet-in-control performance that definitely deserves to be recognised. It would have been even if Heath was still alive.

Yes i should expect it to be released as scheduled in the Summer. Heath had completed his role for the film so there should not a problem in releasing it. They should add a dedication to his memory at the end of the film saying

"In Memory of Heath Ledger 1979-2008"

It must be, nevermind. You are a big Batman follower right?

Nothing will prepare you for just how good this film really is. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it again myself. ;)

:mad::mad:
I'll stand up for him, the last thing you want when you go to an advance screening of a movie you want to see is a disturbance. I'd have been pissed off too.

Back on topic: >
Heath was Fantastic as the Joker, I'll put what I want to say in a spoiler block just incase.
They really should've killed him off though because NOBODY will ever be able to pick that character up.
Heath definately deserves an oscar for that performance.

Thnigs I didn't like though
1. Batman's daft gruff voice - I know he was masking his normal voice, but he sounded stupid.
2. The bike turning on the wall
3. The sonar vision - how he hell was that meant to work anyway?

In an interview with Empire website about his current film Harsh Times Christian Bale he talked about the sequel to Batman Begins briefly:

"You say this thing about not looking back to hard, you

Yeah I have to agree with you as they need to stay more loyal to comic and hopefully Christopher Nolan will do this. The perfect person to play The Joker would be Johnny Depp but I cant see that every happening which is a pity. However maybe Paul Bettany maybe a cheaper but still as good option to play The Joker!

Thanks for the info Steve. I am actually going to London next month so maybe I'll hold off seeing it til then and book to go see it sometime in Sept. :)

Theres still tickets to the preview screenings here but no listings for the 24th.Thats whats bothering me.I wanted to go on the thursday but may have to go on the Friday.I think

Yeah saw an interview with Michael Keaton as well, basically saying that he likes the new Batman and that he didn't want to do Batman Forver or Batman and Robin as he would have rather done one in a similar vein to Begins.

I know someone already posted that Dark Knight has been rated 12A but here is the RAB article which also confirms the running time as well:

"Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight has a running time of more than two and a half hours.

According to the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC), the Batman Begins sequel is 152 minutes long.

The BBFC has granted the movie a 12A certificate.

The film is the longest in the superhero franchise, with its predecessor carrying a running time of 140 minutes.

Recent lengthy summer blockbusters include Spider-Man 3 (139 minutes), Transformers (144 minutes) and Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End (168 minutes)

The Dark Knight is released in the UK on July 25."

Lets long running time means we get a lot of Batman and The Joker but also maybe a bit of Two Face towarRAB the end as well. I cant wait to see this film!
