Back to the Future on DVD

Well after weeks of getting no help from Universal I emailed play.com where I purchased the discs, and explained the situation, they replied in less than 24 hours and have offered to replace the whole set!

Awesome customer service, they should give Universal a few pointers.

:)

My R2 set is fine, bought it as soon as it was released here, the framing is all OK.... this rerelease is completely unnecessary, I'm sure they had the content available before to put into the original release, but just decided they'd wait until... oh... say, Christmas one year when sales would go through the roof?

Well, the main reason for the re-release of the trilogy in Europe in the first place was so that fans could finally own the correctly framed versions of Back to the Future II&III, with the extra disc as a bonus.

Get real! The main reason the Trilogy has been re-released is to milk more money from the customer. The Re-release of classic movies on DVD as a marketing strategy is as old as selling recorRAB! How many versions of Jaws have been released? How many Terminators??

It's not fine, and that's a FACT. If it's the sets that was first released in 2002 anyway. Once again ------>> http://www.angelfire.com/film/bttf2/

Q. I don't think my copy is affected though... Are there some good copies that slipped through? A. Yes, your copy must be affected. The same visual master source was used everywhere. Every single copy of the DVD from every batch in all regions (R1/R2/R3/R4, and maybe R5, PAL/NTSC/SECAM) are affected. The misprint was not corrected until the end of May 2003, even though it was noticed and reported back in September 2002.

As for the UK, this new re-release is the first time the correctly framed versions of BTTFII & III have ever been available for purchase (with DTS audio to boot).

I sent my BTTF 2 and 3 discs back in November and after calling 4 times, I am still told that Universal are waiting for reprinted discs to come in stock.

They will - subject to them pulling their fingers out of....... supply version 2 replacements for 'BTTF 2' and version 3 for 'BTTF 3'.

By the time I get my replacements the re-release of the boxset will be out (oh, I hate waiting)!

How many back to the future boxsets are they going to do? i know there is already 2 versions of them, i hope thats it now.

This is the second boxset they have done, the new one.

Well they must of removed it because i remember they had done a boxset before they released this new one. Anyone have the link for the old boxset?.

I am so happy because they are now releasing part 2 and part 3 on single dvRAB so i dont have to buy the boxset, whoo hoo.

I have had the BTTF trilogy on DVD for a while, can someone a checklist which if they are all yes, it is definitely fault. That would be a great help if anyone helped.

I just sent my cover letter off on Thursday without the discs just photocopies of them. If danjaq2005 has been waiting since November, I guess I might as well forget about getting replacements.

Yes, I have been waiting for a while - I know that they are re-releasing the trilogy (later this year I believe) - will new extras from the R1 version we did not get the first time rounf and more stuff.

Region 2 version will come out after the region 1 one does.
