Back to the Future III puzzle

Well that all makes much more sense now!!

The two cars still doesn't quite work, I hadn't thought about docs car not being where Marty hid his....

It's also worrying how Marty's Great Great Great (I think) Grandmother in the Old West looks just like his own mother from the 80's.

Another one is from part 2. When old Biff returns from the 60's, he collapses. This is because he's altered his own future by giving young biff that book....however, nobody else suffers the same. Surely, all the 2015 Mcfly's would start to suffer too because of Biff's new life?

I should stop thinking of these things!

Well, supposedly the McFlys are attracted to the same type of woman. Go figure.

Biff collapses because in the alternate 1985, Lorraine murders him after having enough of his bullying. This obviously doesn't happen in the REAL timeline as Marty goes back and gets the book. The movie works because you don't think of the little things while watching it...it's only after, that you go "Wait a minute....!" :p

I'll have a go at this one.

In the original timeline before Doc invents the time machine Clara dies in the ravine and hence Clayton Ravine.
At this point nothing has changed in history and Marty went to school as a child and learned about Clayton Ravine.

Everything then changes around Marty, he remembers what it was called before he went back but also what it was changed to. (the rest of the world would know no difference only the Eastwood ravine).

Doc would have picked her up at the station before Marty went back to 1885 hence beloved Clara on the tombstone.

So when Marty goes back to 1885 and doc saves Clara he remembers what it was called.

His memory never changed, which is where a paradox comes in. It should have because he'd have never been taught it when he was young.

thats enough from me

The car one is pretty easy to sort out.

Doc hid the DeLorean for Marty to use to get back to the future. Instead, Marty used it to go back to 1885 and damaged the fuel line. If they then went and tried to use the DeLorean that Doc hid, Marty wouldn't have been able to come back to rescue Doc, because the DeLorean would never have been there for him to find. This would, therefore, cause a paradox and we know from Part 2, that a paradox can bring about the end of the universe. So obviously that ruled out doing anything to the existing DeLorean, in case it were to cause a paradox.
