Would suggest that not much Green/Blue/Projection screening was used in the film.
I've always thought that the scenes in the kitchen where Micheal J Fox plays Future Marty and Marlene looked very clean and fluid. The quote would suggest this is why.
Completely agree. Sad to see on one level, but great to see him still participating and doing what he loves.
Haven't watch all of the documentary yet, but enjoyed it so far. Lea Thompson still looks pretty good after the years, slightly less so Christopher Lloyd and James Tolkan. Sad to see no Crispin Glover (although not surprised) or Thomas F Wilson.
All in all, very impressed. Looks to be a very good transfer, gorgeous picture quality.
Well from an Interview with Bob Gale I saw somewhere, the transfers they created for the Blu Rays look stunning and better than they did in the cinema.
Also with the new documentary and bonus features that actually include some of the originally shot footage with Eric Stoltz that has never been seen before this will really be the ultimate version of the trilogy. Also the UK and US versions will have exactly the same in terms of extras and features.
I really can't wait for them. They are my most fav movies ever!
Perfectionists are whinging about the use of edge enhancement although this is only evident if viewing up close .
One thing is for sure , Universal really do need to sort out their HD department.
BTTF is one of the better ones but many of their classic films on Bluray are rubbish and spoilt by too much noise reduction.
The Spartacus Bluray is not very good at all.
They should consult Fox or Warner about how to do it right.
Dvd was the new kid on the block, but so was hdtv at the time. The writing was on the wall for anyone who was paying attention to such things. The end of the sd era was in sight, as such, dvd was dead man walking
I don't believe in collectors value either, but in terms of something to buy for enjoyment and to keep, the bluray clearly provides the theatrical experience, the dvd was always just limited technology.
well - for the tin boxset - which appears not as limited as it seemed...
but the Predators steelbook sold out in days - a month before the film was realised.
there also was an extremly limited edition Avatar BD edition due out in late Nov or Dec - that had David Cameron's signature on it. that went quite quick. it was around the 100 quid mark though.
but speaking of BTTF, I preordered mine months ago. And STILL not received it from play.com!!!!!!
Now that you posted it I recall seeing details about it on the dvd documentary.
So it was a composite as per my last suggestion.
I knew I couldn't recall questionable effects - now we know why
There may be stunning transfers of the films made in HD but Universals record in getting this quality onto the actual discs is not good..
This really is one title that neeRAB to be done right.
If it's not then catalogue titles from Universal can be scrubbed from wants lists as the resulting Blurays are little better than dvd
