how many of you can't agree on a name for your baby with your partner and they keep suggesting names you can't stand and vice versa my bf and i have totally different taste in names he loves creative and alternative and modern and definatly leans towars more ethnic names hes black. I on the other hand love tradition classic and timeless names that tend to be more english i am white has anyone else had the same same problem or it is cause we are an interracial couple that we can't agree cause of the different cultures.
its a girl by the way and we have decided to have a normal first name and the ethnic name as a middle but i wont let it be too off the wall like lacreshia
let me give an example on the same name

me- breanna claire

him- BreyAnna Khlayre
jasmine and jade i like as middle not first

haha i know what you mean
except for me and my husband it was the opposite.
I'm white and I love the native and indian names.
And he's native and he loves the more "white" names.
lmao

you could go with a first name that's more ethnic and a middle name more english/traditional or whatever. or vice versa.
my first and middle names are from my two cultures: one is norwegian and one is gaelic.

edit:
whoa you just added the additional comment right when i posted my answer.

maybe think of a unique name rather than just a different spelling?
i love the name nova. it means new star, or simply "new".

I know what you mean. I know a number of couples that can't decide on names either because they prefer names from a different culture or have completely different taste in names apposed to their partner.
It's all about compromise.

Good luck!

I think it's definately challenging because of the different cultural backgrounds. But you can make it a fun challenge though! I would suggest a compromise, first, agree to find something you both like and then each write down your favourites. Then go through your lists and each pick out your favourites from the other's lists. You can now combine them, or just choose a first name from one list and a second name from the other. Good luck!
