how about we work on the rediculous business taxes, regulations and laws so that american companies can actually be profitable using american workers

Wrong. Unless you had moved to Canada, you would still be American. The same applies to Americans born abroad.

If your parents are diplomats from the US, and you are born in a foreign country, you don't have to go get a green card and apply for US citizenship.

and they are met with anti-trade measures by other, cheaper countries. it's an economic black hole.

Not sure if this is good or bad - I wish they'd just stick to one fight at a time though - the checking of papers is pretty clear cut, this isn't.

You clearly know nothing about the way things have been since the country was founded. Because when the country was first founded, each state made its own requirements for citizenship, and you were a citizen of your state, not of the US. That lasted until the ratification of the 14th Amendment in 1868, when citizenship was federalized. And then in 1898, in United States v. Wong Kim Ark, the supreme court clarified that only children born in the US to foreigners are US citizens only if the foreigners are PERMANENT RESIDENTS who:are living and conducting business in the USare not diplomatic employees of a foreign nation, andare not members of a foreign occupation force.
This will go to the supreme court, and they will further clarify that said foreign citizens must reside here LAWFULLY.
