Axiom Midi controller?

Hi, I purchased an axiom 61.... but since the keyboard has many pads, I was wondering if I could use the controller as a pad controller. For example, for producing music. I am not sure how I can do this, I have variety of programs from Ableton, logic, and fl studio, but I am not so sure how to assign the keys to cue and etc.
