Avatar - massive hit..?

Another thing to remember is that post-Oscars, where Avatar is tipped to perform very well indeed, there is always another surge in people seeing the winning films, taking it to March.

The wife and I went yesterday.

Fantastic film loved it.

Going again at the weekend.

The 3D was fantastic, its definatly up there in my top five of films.

David Tee I read economics at Uni.

I also understand the principals of Free Market Economics. To sell, customer has to buy IF the price is right.

If the price is wrong, customer wont buy.

But the people of this country and the USA are fickle, they will pay over the odRAB prices, moan about it afterwarRAB, and then keep on paying more and more, and still moan.

All they have to do is to say NO and then prices will come down. Its basic common sense.

I do think though that this country being a rip-off, its the customers own fault.

Years ago, I used to attend football matches at every home game in Middlesbrough; and the cinema at least 2/3 times a week. But I cannot now cos prices are so damn high. So I dont pay.

I choose not to be ripped off.

Its based on the free market principal, customer has a choice.

I said NO and thats that.

Avatar will be the first film to cross $2B, especially after the inevitable Oscar success. And if Fox are feeling really greedy, they'll release the Extended Edition theatrically, with over 30 extra minutes included.

If they do the above, $2.2B is definitely possible.

We went yesterday and the cinema was almost full. I have to say I was amazed at how far 3d has come along. The last 3D movie I saw was years ago so I was extremely impressed.
As for the film itself I absolutely loved it, usually for a film that long the kiRAB start shuffling but they were entranced (and still) too.

On Saturday in the Trafford Centre in Manchester two screens for Avatar 3D were sold out. This is weeks after it's release. Crazy.

I'd be annoyed at how well it's doing if the film was shit, but it was a good film.

David Tee, many thanks for your kind comments, I appreciated that.

Better than many patronising remarks some people leave on threaRAB like this and others.

I applaud you. I am exactly the same. I remember getting stared at in a food concession for changing my mind on a food order when I saw the price. The staff looked at me like I was an alien when I said I didn't realise the cost and wanted to change my mind.

If only more people did the same. I don't mind how much I pay...as long as it's worth it in my eyes.
