As It's almost Halloween...

As It's Almost Halloween I want to watch some horrors/thrillers movies..

Are Prom Night and T33th (I think it is) worth seeing?

What do you recommend I see (that have been released recently)?

The original Prom Night with Jamie Lee Curtis is worth seeing, to me it's a classic slasher film even though a lot of people thought it was rubbish. If you mean the remake, don't bother wasting your time, watch some other horror.

Teeth I have yet to see this, suppose to be rather good.

I recommend The Orphanage, and [REC] if you haven't seen the two films yet. Brilliant films. Unless you want lots of gore then maybe not...

Or The Descent!

This is a good idea for a thread - me and my OH are having a scary film fest on the 31st.

We'll have the original Hallowe'en, plus 1408, plus maybe Blair Witch- can anyone recommend any other good ones?

Couldn't agree, or recommend these more, if you want the absolute bejesus scared out of you, never want to sleep again and/or crap yourself everytime the phone rings weeks after watching one! Brilliant stuff! :D Try The Eye, One Missed Call, Ring, Ju-on, Phone, Dark Water, The Doll Master, A Tale Of Two Sisters ... Never mind any of the crappy lame Hollywood remakes. They don't even come close.

Also must jump on "The Descent" bandwagon ~ fantastically scary!

Rent it, save money. I wouldn't buy it at all, it's a terrible version of the film and totally misses one point of the original, Myers is mysterious. Don't want a lot of crap stuff added in about his childhood and full on background.

I'm not. Follows on from the American ending...

1408 is creepy, good choice. Definitely need the original Halloween. Totally check out the ones I mentioned above.

The Changeling is one too, from the late 70s or early 80s, can't quite remember.

1.Halloween (obv for halloween)
2.The descent!! (scary!
3. The Strangers!! (REMAKE!!)

Teeth was not scary at all but was amusing and entertaining!

Prom NIght is an ok slasher. pretty predictable though!

1408 is great full of twists and jumps!

The Orphanage and Rec are really scary if your watching in a cinema! But watching them in the house didnt think they were scary must have been the cinematic atmosphere!

But any of the above films would give you a good scare at least once:P:P

Seeing as Halloween is more of a fun thing than anything truly scary, I'll recommend some old horros high on the cheese/fun factor.

Motel Hell.
Re-animator.
Sleepaway Camp.
The People Under The Stairs.
Basket Case.
The Burning.

What American ending?

I loved the ending to the 'The Descent' I saw...

Oh why do I feel like they've tacked on some watered down s*** ....
