Artists I Refuse To Like ....EVER

P-nut is an excellent bassist and Chad Sexton can work the snares. Their early albums, Music and Grassroots, have plenty of funky tunes. Here is a favorite from before they released their first record:

If someone's voice annoys me it's hard for me to get into them, even if I respect them as musicians

Also I will never listen to Bikini Kill ughhhhh

 I'm shocked! Not gonna argue of course, I'm sure you've given them a fair shot. I'm just shocked considering we have fairly similar taste and are the same age.

I refuse to like Refused. How they get so much praise for all that whiny, pseudo-political crap they recorded in the 90's is beyond me. The Shape Of Punk To Come is probably the most overrated album I've ever heard: an hour of nothing but pointless bitching and crappy poems, repetitive downtuned guitar riffing and horrible feedback that somehow justifies the "experimental" nature of the album. It's only the shape of punk to come if you consider punk to be the music of those awful "screamo" banRAB that show up on Warped Tour every year.

Alright. . . . .
The line you're thinking of changing don't unless you come up with something really really better.
The most serious flaw in this si the line about a river running beside you.
It doesn't quite fit. It neeRAB to be tweaked.
And now that I think about it, if length is something you seem to bea little big on then make the song longer and get ride of the line about the river and how it benRAB.
You have nice imagery at the beginning and so you're also not too vague. And if appears that way then the beginning is arabiguous (in my opinion) and it shouldn't be touched anyways. Let the reader/listener interpret it the way they want to. Saves you some hassle.

That's about it

oh and PS:
this should've probably wnet in the song writing forum . . .

i can't come up with an artist off the top of my head worth mentioning...there are quite a few that don't even merit a name drop.

i will say that i absolutely refuse to listen to the entire genre of country. even if someone showed me a country song and i actually liked it, i would still - purely out of principle - refuse to ever download, buy, or in any way associate myself with that form of music.
