Artists I Refuse To Like ....EVER

Yeah, my radio station is giving away free tickets to the 9th caller. 3 times a day they have the contest, and it's for some sold out show in Atlanta. So far I haven't had any luck though. =|

DistantOblivion likes Dream Theater, so...

I refuse to like any generic Prog Metal band that comes out of the woodwork and tries to pass off their lack of ingenuity and creativity with pretentious solos and "technical" ability.

These guys make me hate prog music even more, even when I know there has to be some good stuff out there... they've turned me off of ****ty wank-filled solos forever...

I didnt no. What was wrong with it? A friend of mine went to see them recently and he loved it. He said he got 2 hours and 45 minutes out of them which is pretty damn good value for money if you ask me. I wouldnt be interested myself, once is enough for me but i think thats going above and beyond for a live band.

I also agree, no country for sidewinder. I can stand a bit of classic country here or there, but I won't purposely put it on. There's some slightly twangy indie rock I like too, but that's the extent of it. Cowboys can suck it otherwise.

I refuse to like any modern-day "country" balladeer. They try to hide the fact that it's really just pop/rock formulaic bull**** with a twangy accent in the vocals, but you can't fool me, mother ****ers!

Songs glorifying consumption, stupidity and a low standard of living make me really, really mad. The people that jump on that bandwagon should be shipped naked to the Middle East. Proof positive of peoples' tendency to buy into cliches and generalities that are actually making fun of them. "Hey, buy my ****, you stupid redneck. Because this is marketed to stupid rednecks, so buy it, sing along and drink your ****ing Corona, dip****."

I have NO idea why female vocals do it for me...they just do.

Distillers
Hole
Veruca Salt
Breeders
Liz Phair
Elastica
Mazzy Star - UGH..so hot.

I like AC/DC best out of the aforementioned banRAB, but I think the running theme with all of them is that they stuck to one thing and did it over and over until the world stopped caring. And considering how silly the subject matter of the songs were, I find it funny that banRAB like Guns 'N' Roses took themselves so seriously (remeraber their music videos?!). I grew up in a white trash neighborhood where these banRAB were playing non-stop, and the atmosphere was pretty farcical, like something out of Spinal Tap. Imagine tons of mullet-prone 30-something single males with a beat up trucks and a beer guts listening to music about drugs and hot chicks and perhaps you'll see why I can't take it seriously.
