Are you voting for Obama just because you hate W?

get a republican in here to have a debate that doesn't involve Ayers or any other bullshit topic - i have no problem having a civil discussion involving facts rather than hate speech and people lying to themselves (i.e. people who think palin is fit to run the white house)

thats another thing to keep in mind - if either of them were killed or died for whatever reason, do you think you'd be in better hands with biden (30+ years of experience) or palin, one of the most disgraceful pieces of american politics in most peoples parents eyes (just saying, going back for a long time) - do you think palin is fit to be president? mccain didn't even know her and hadn't met her when he chose her as VP - as i said earlier, do you think we'd know who she was if there was a woman on barack's ticket?

I'm voting McCain because I agree with most of his policies. I don't agree with Obama.

I'm not basing my vote on "he's black or might be a muslim or he's old or he's another bush, etc."

Though, I'm sure both of them have an equally good chance to not do anything they say and screw us up even more.

How are people missing this treasure of a response? If so you need to know 5 things:

You are a dumbass
You clowned around
you got special treatment cause of your dad
You had already fucked up a post or two before you logged off
You chose to stay in another thread with your boys instead of switching topics

See I too can post insane ramblings with no substance.

That plays into it, but it's not the main reason. I'm mostly voting for Obama because McCain is not the same person he was several years ago. I'd definitely vote for McCain from the '00 election. This McCain in the '08 election is a completely different individual.

It used to be nothing but 1% everywhere. The fact that you are even throwing in 3% and 5% as possibilities means it's making a difference.
Of course it won't matter this election, but in 4 years it may be 3/5/7%, and four years after that it could be 10%

And once it hits as low at 10% we'll see a change in the big parties as they try to draw in that 10% to get themselves elected. Eventually it will become whichever party can best tap into the 10% of third party voters will win.

and while you're living on these hopes and dreams, you will be living under someone else's rule for your entire life (that you didn't even vote for) - i came up with those numbers out of thin air - nader and baldwin probably won't pull in numbers that high because they've done literally no campaigning and obama has drawn quite a few libertarians and independents (as has mccain) - the only reason perot did so well is becuase of how much money he spent and he still didn't win - you would need a third party candidate who is a billionaire and financing his own campaign to win with a third party...otherwise you're living on hopes and dreams

+1. His tax plan alone is reason enough for anyone with any fucking brain cells to not vote for him. McCain may not be the best choice but Obama's tax plan is going to skullfuck the ecomony even furthur into a deep recession. Hell, Obama has even said that he will not rescend the Bush tax cuts if the country is in a recession because IT WOULD HURT THE ECONOMY.

http://www.nysun.com/national/obama-recession-would-delay-tax-hikes/85295/

Straight from the Messiah's mouth. It's like people have been brainwashed with the bullshit line "95% of Americans will get a tax cut". Who do you think will be paying the higher taxes Obama is going to impose on businesses? You think they're going to just eat it? Hell no! They're either going to raise the price of their goods/services and/or layoff people. Hell of a lot of good those tax cuts are going to do those people who get layed off and the rest who end up paying more for basic goods. Taxing the rich sounds like a grand idea until you realize it's those 5% that own the majority of businesses in this country and more than likely sign your payroll check.

He also wants to nearly double the capital gains tax and raise the corporate tax rate which at it's current rate of 25% is already one of the highest in the world. I'm sure taxing companies more will keep them from outsourcing....

You say that as if it would somehow be better if I were living under someone else's rule that I DID vote for.

Either way I don't want the major party candidates this year, they seem equally bad to me just in different ways. Maybe in the future there will be a major party candidate that suggests he will cut spending, but until then I'm not going to vote for someone who is going to continue our government's spending spree.

are you shitting me, i am fine with people having there own opinions, but its that kind of idiot thinking that gives the US a bad rap, people who'd rather elect a guy they want to have a beer with (G Bush) rather than someone who can actually speak the English language. If people stopped regurgitating stupid GOP talking points and actually did some research on their candidates we might not be in this mess.
If someone has a bad habit and performs horribly at one of your offices, do you hire someone they've recommended and share similarities in work ethic with? Me I'd laugh in their face and kick them out into the street. SO we've given you 8 years of conservative control and have gotten nothing but debt and 9/11 in its place under their watchful and protective eye. Thats right...terrorists attacked us under Bush's REPUBLICAN leadership...and you complain about Obama's potential in security, I'm sorry but anyone who supports the republican ticket after that security debacle does not deserve a right to voice their opinion on security matters, period.
Nope you've had your shot, its time to kick the bums out and try something new...hey it may turn out to be worse or better, either way Joe the plumber had his shot, he's thrown nothing but debt and a busted planet in my generations way...step aside please so we can start fixing your mess =)

I don't think many people are voting for Obama because they hate W. Some people worry that McCain is too much like W, basically the same, and people feel W hasn't done a good job. I think that's a legitimate view.

W is a lot more than one man and it needs to be taken out no matter what the alternative is.

Plus, is Obama realy that bad? I mean seriously, which one of his policies can you possibly hate him for? The shit I hear coming out of McCains mouth just doesnt make any sense and the only part of his speech that remains consistent is his use of maverick and war hero.

Are you going to vote for McCain simply because he was a 'war hero'?

If so you need to know 5 things:

He was a dumbass
He clowned around
he got special treatment because of his dad
He had already fucked up a plane or two before the one that he got shot down
He chose to stay in the prison with his friends instead of being released

which wouldve allowed him to go grab some men for a surprise return brilliant
