Are you voting for Obama just because you hate W?

i'm voting for him because it is time to get a democrat back in office. then, if the democrats screw things up as much as the current administration, i'll vote republican. it is all about balance. if you constantly have the same party in office for too long, you get one set of values addressed while a whole different set gets ignored completely. if that happens, our government ends up going too far to one side or the other while it is the center that is best for our country.

we don't want too much warmongering, but avoiding conflict at all cost is bad too. it is good to get tax rebates, but eventually we need to do something for our national debt and that will probably mean higher taxes for at least some of us.

That's pretty funny, considering the "Conservative Intellectuals" are coming out in droves stating that Palin should not be on the ticket, and that McCain made a bad decision on asking her to be VP. Colon Powell, who might I add seems to be a very intelligent person, and made his decision based on the debates and the reaction of the two candidates of the economic crisis, is from the Republican Party and is not voting for McCain. Also, the Republicans seem to be in attack mode on the "Elite", calling Obama an elitist and socialist....so, if this is the case, then McCain should win, because he's targeting the unintelligent, whom in your statement above, are in fact voting democrat, because they cannot think for themselves.

HAHA a simple no would have sufficed. What a tolerant and progressive person you are. Where in Germany did you see such acts? Did they just start burning flags in the last eight years? I never said that I didn't like Obama, I just think your the mirror image to the right's "zealots and cowboys".

man i hate politics. every time i feel like i understand something and have an opinion someone comes along and throws it all out. ive flip flopped so many times from mccain to obama that im getting dizzy.

you made good points mrburner but i guaranteed if i said the shit you are saying to some republican that knows more i would get my ass handed to me again. its like i can never win. i honestly dont understand how anyone can figure out who to vote for. theres so much information out there and its all conflicting. ugh.

should i just come to grasp that i will never be 100% committed to a candidate? i want to vote for obama but when i hear the word socialist thrown around so much with his policies i get uneasy. and i keep hearing that he hasn't done shit for illinois and has no experience. but he is intelligent and lots of experience doing the wrong thing is much worse than no experience and having good ideas i guess.

A vote for a 3rd party is a vote against big government spending and foreign adventurism.

As long as people vote for the two major parties, those two major parties are going to keep on spending our money and starting wars overseas.

That's not something I'll ever be voting for.

No you aren't. You're voting against the status quo and saying that you aren't happy with the government continuing to increase spending at every opportunity.

A vote for Obama or McCain says that you want the government to take your money and spend it, they just differ on how they should spend your money.

Wow. Just wow.

"Those I disagree with should be silenced", eh? This kind of shit, along with the Fairness Doctrine.

Damn, and you faggots call Bush a fascist?

then you can just keep throwing your vote away and in your head it will matter but in the world it won't

i don't like mccain and i don't like obama - neither were even close to my top 3 choices for either party, but this is who we're stuck with - by voting 3rd party, you aren't making a statement to anyone but yourself...you think 1 or 3 or 5% is a statement? it's unfortunate, but as of now we are stuck in a 2 party system - there is NO CHANCE (i'll put money on it if you want) that a third party candidate will be elected - therefore you have to choose between obama and mccain - as much as you may dislike certain policies of each candidate, we WILL end up with one of these two men - if you think they are identical and will bring the same exact results to the table, then by all means, vote 3rd party; if you think that one has some ideas that are better than the other, vote for them - nationalized healthcare is not going to pass through congress - the economy is the biggest concern right now and obama actually has an economic plan - mccain has a plan very similar to bush's which will basically further the class divide (lower class/upper class - the middle class is going away and far more people are in the lower/middle than upper/middle as they'd like to believe)

google the keating 5 scandal - find more out about mccains amazing service to our country

don't let people on the radio who have a side chosen and a side they preach about tell you who to vote for - LOOK at the policies and don't pay attention to the scare tactics or negatives that people try to throw around - the facts are on the table so try not to just read the drudge report or something like that...don't be scared by certain words as this is what scare tactics are...do you want to be scared into voting for your candidate?

you have 2 weeks (assuming you're registered) - feel free to post up all of the bullshit any republican tells you and i'll happily refute it for you - as i said, i am not an obama fan - i live in arizona and i would NEVER cast a vote for john mccain

wow the people in this thread know their policies........ Still blaming others because people cant afford the loans they agreed to borrow. Blaming one politician for these hard times is moronic and should be further reviewed. sharholders, LENDERS(Includes the corrupt), and borrowers are to blame not politicians. We expect them to leave are market free, but hold are hands if we fuck up..... Im waiting for the debate this week then ill make my decision. Jus because someone is in the same party doesnt mean they're the same people. You really think either Obama or McCain will let this continue? Give me a break...... inform yourself of their policies, make your own damn decision.

-because ron paul isn't running
-because in elections like this, voting for a 3rd party is a waste - there is no ross perot in this race, you aren't proving anything by giving bob barr a few percent of the total vote (and barr is no libertarian anyways), green, constitution, etc. parties are a waste of a vote
-because i dislike mccain and think palin is extremely unqualified for ANY office
-because obama is actually intelligent
-because i'm much more confident with biden than palin if anything were to happen to either candidate
-due to the fact that there is no viable 3rd party candidate, it is a choice of the lesser of two evils
