Are you for a Constitutional Amendment banning burning the flag?

You live in the South, don't you?

Learn to separate religion and politics, will you?

Repeat after me: God's law and man's law are two different issues.

Is that simple enough for you? Or do I need to talk so fanatic can understand?

Hum, now that's what I call an open mind.

Huh? How does this not also apply to the so-called "upper class". Is there an income-based exemption?

Huh? Isn't that what amending the Constitution is supposed to do? Our forefathers envisioned the need for the Constitution to be changed and wrote in a process for doing so. The amending process isn't a walk in the park. It takes a lot of effort by a majority of voters in at least 37 sttes.

Oh, I see. GW2 fabricated 9-11 just to take away YOUR rights. How sinister and clever of him. (I think your foil neeRAB adjustment, BTW.)

You're right here, nothing can take away from any action done, it's a part of you. But I think we would all say that in general no one would respect a known rapist or child molester. Say they served in the military before doing this. Of course they served their country, but then they went on to do other horrible things. The service they did for the military is no less heroic, but as a person I would not respect them as much as if they had come out of the military and volunteered to help wounded people or at a homeless shelter. Overall, I would respect the actions that they did protecting the country, but I would not have overall respect for a person before I knew them a lot better than that.

How do you equate shooting someone burning a flag with the freedom of speech principle of democracy? Shall we include your worship of statues symbolizing individuals who fought against that flag in your statement? Or is your contemporary patriotism so blind you forgo freedom of speech and permit no criticism of the state? What to hear the definition of that attitude? Get out? I don't think you were ever here or your education skipped the definition of freedom.

Well that is a whole new ball game and probaly the topic of another thread......I am neither a republican or a democrat so I agree with you there is enough blame to go around.........I think you would have to agree that the dems are a much more liberal party then the repubs though........

I just think its a stretch to call burning Old Glory" free speech..............That is just me though...........

I would be willing to bet that if we banned flag-burning that flag-burning would go up. Most people don't really burn flags, but I could see a lot doing it to protest the ammendment against it.

He can say what he wants. However he has no "more right" as a certain poster claimed. Or do you think he has "more right" to say things than others?

For your own well being, please do not use what VoR has (or has not) learned as a base line for consideration of anything. As you can see for yourself, this thread is not about "people that hate our military, this country and our way of life." , it is about limiting freedom of expression. The over 90% here in opposition to are right.
Good luck in the Corps. I was in the USMC Reserve for six years and it was a good experience even if my first day was very long. I was standing in line waiting to be issued uniforms, leaning on the wall. A gunny came down the hall yelling, "Get off that bulkhead"! Of course I ignored him and he came at me yelling even louder, "I said get off that bulkhead"! I didn't move and he screamed, "Are you deaf"? Still being in my civilian mode, I answered, "If I was deaf, would I be standing in this line? Bad mistake, I learned that a bulkhead is a wall and to carefully craft my answers. I spent the rest of the day handing out shorts (skivvies).

Do me a favor, drop by the local branch of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. or the American Legion and tell the Vets there that were in support units what you think of their contributions..........

You are really a brave one sitting behind your monitor putting people contributiions down........Its easy to do that.........If you had to face the people you are criticizing you would cower like a baby.........

The most recent pictures I've seen of people burning flags were taken in the Middle East...and I don't think they were Americans.

Are you saying that the act of burning a flag is an example of freedom of expression (speech), therefore it is an American thing to do?

I know that NeoCons are liberals when it comes to economics for the entire part. In fact more than liberals, they're socialists when it comes to economics - where they outdo socialists is in the social arena, where they are more totalitarian.

Don't you dare tell me what I defended..........You have no clue........

The Cloth as you can the American flag is what this thread is about........It has nothing to do with anything else.......
