Are we undergoing a modern decline of civility and politeness?

Is modern society undergoing a collapse in civility? I am writing a research paper on this topic and would like to know your opinions! What do you think, and if so, what is it due to?

once everyone realizes how messed up the government has truly become we will fight for freedom and there will be a civil war but the world wont stand by and let it happen so really we are all doomed to live in a socialist government where you cant gain status only lose what little you had

I would say yes modern society is losing its civility, even for those priveleged, mainly because most everybody thinks they are entitled, and when most people do not get what they want they resort to manipulation, coercion, and other malicious tactics.

That is why I say, that there is no more civil place than the military in times of war. Because that is where men and women learn and train to stand for something, live with character, follow, lead, and be professionals where these traits shine bright in those who live them during times of war. On the other hand most of regular society neither lives, nor learns any of these traits
