Are there legal mandates that force landlords to allow a grace period from the day

rent is due? On almost all lease's tenants have a 3-5 day grace period from the date their rent is do allowing transit time if mailed.

My question is, is this a state or federal mandated provision that has to be in leases or do landlords have the option of giving no grace period?

Please only answer if you know for a FACT in your state.
My original question was is it legally ok to mail your rent on the day it's due. No one wanted to answer my question in a legal fashion so I'll get the answer by asking this question.
Do certain states force landlords to allow a grace period from the day rent is due, force via it must be included in the language of a lease, if silent, it's implied.
Actually just checked my states mandates on landlords.
NJ and MUST allow "5 business days" before payment is considered late.

Landlords don't have the option because it's mandated. This means all the sound advice you gave, is wrong. It's fine and practical to mail the rent check the day it's due.
JS that grace period is mandated by PA, you're full of crap if you think you have the option to refuse allowing a grace period. You're not allowing a grace period out of kindness, it's the law you have to.
PA requires a 5 day grace period and NO you can't opt out of it. If the lease is silent, it's implied for PA as well as NJ.
It does not have to even be in the lease, it's a state requirement for the majority of states. Hope you've learned something, I expected biased answers from landlords.
HD, no really, I just figured people wouldn't answer unless they actually knew for a fact, I assumed wrong.
