Are there any movies in which the baddie(s) come out on top? (possible spoilers)

Left up to the viewer my ass!, lol

I think you missed the point of the film entirely then, he obviously would mourn his brothers death, and stick to the views he got while being in prison, the whole point of the film is that Derek Vinyard stops being rascist, and try to get his brother to not make the same mistakes that he did.

Not some stupid revenge vendetta that ensues after such a good film.

Yeah, but that was always gonna be a temporary thing! There's a sequel where the goodies put it all right!!!

Although - how cool would it have been if Luke HAD turned to the dark side and ruled with the Emperor?!?!

what did they quote after derek got released "if anything happens to this kid then war would erupt" or something similar.

Derek turns racist after a black dude shot dead his father, His brother was shot dead by a black dude. U telling me there would be no hatred inside this man.

He would be torn between sweeney and Cam's views once again, i think you missed the point to this film altogether

So you're telling me that the point of the film is basically "That people will be racist and then see the error of their ways, but go back to racism when something like this happens" BULLCRAP!!!

things seem to fly over your head a lot, do you live by an airport or something or are you actually racist you're self.

On IMDb in the FAQ's it says this:-

The last line Derek says in the film is "What have I done?". In this it could be implied he does not revert to his old ways but blames himself for what has happened. This would mean he would not revert to his old ways as his brother's death would be in vain.

After watching it the first time, that is exactly what I thought.

no need for swearing:rolleyes: and if i'm racist then whats the problem....you know nothing about me!

yes my point has finally been taken on board. You made your mind up at the end of the film about what happens next, thats your view and its a reasonable one, my view is he might have turned back towarRAB cam and the nazi views....Just a theory:rolleyes:

Not really, because I would assume most people liked him and were rooting for him.

I would say Funny games is the ultimate example. Nobody in their right mind would be rooting for the "baddies" in that film :)

Horror movies often like to keep us in suspense by either having the "monsters" win or by leaving the ending open (although these days an open ending is often just a lazy invitation to write a sequel.)

It's unusual for a non-horror movie where there's a clear good guys / bad guys split and the baddies win or get away with it.

I suppose you could say A Clockwork Orange is an example - Alex is a violent sociopath and returns to his violent ways at the end of the film (but not the book...)

I like to think Roy 'won' in the end, after all he gets Claudia, the money from the condom company and sorts his alcoholism out.

Also Claudia's ex and his croney went looking for Big Ern after Claudia set him up by making it look like they had been making phonecalls to each other, so maybe he got his comeuppance
