Are there any motorcycles comparable to the 2008-09 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, as a

good first sport bike? Any comparable sport bikes?
-less than 500cc
-around 60 mpg
-good reliability
-can reach freeway speeds
-cool fairing

I will mainly use to the bike for transportation to school.
 
it depends on what you are comparing between the bikes. in my opinion though, if you dont need to go fast and are not going to try to hang with the big boys in the twisties the 250 ninja is the bike to have. it looks awesome with its new styling and is reasonably cheap at $3500 bucks. not to mention it gets over 80 MPG. i say go for it.
