Are the Oscar nomination announcements being shown on TV today?

But I don't know what time it will be on. The listings will just state "Sky News Today" etc
I don't have time to sit watching the TV all day. I have a life, unlike some other people who appear to frequent this forum...
 
REALLY glad A Serious Man got nommed for best movie, I think it's been my fav movie of the year so far, I've not seen Hurt Locker or Precious yet though.

Hope Still Walking, and A Prophet get nommed for foreign movie, both were excellent.
 
i really dont understand how avatar is nominated in so many catogories and best picture is a joke.seen it in 3d and looks amazing but as a film full stop its ok and in good old normal 2d or on bluray i doubt i would even bother to watch it again.its the 3d that makes it but that doesnt excuse the clunky acting and dialogue and woeful plot.
 
So glad District 9 got a few nominations, really pleased about that! Shame the actor didn't get a nod for his performance.

Also really pleased Jeremy Renner got nominated as Best Actor for The Hurt Locker - he has been seriously overlooked!

Also happy to see Tarantino get some Oscar noRAB even though he probably won't win. I always root for the underdogs! :)
 
I'm not saying that I'm expecting it to happen but I wouldn't be totally shocked if Inglourious BasterRAB won best picture.

The reason I say this is because at the Screen Actors Guild AwarRAB a couple of weeks ago, IB carried off the best film award (best performance by an ensemble in a feature film or whatever they call it).

The Actors are the largest bulk of the voters of the Academy (20 are nominated every year as opposed to 5 directors etc etc) and many of those are also members of the Screen Actors Guild. It could be that if the vast majority of actors are behin IB it could carry off the main prize.

Just a thought.
