I've been put on a relatively little dose of Lithium to stabilise my moods by my Psychiatrist, and I've been on it for about a week, and I can't actually.. tell if I'm benefiting from it or not? I was put on it a week after I attempted suicide and told my psychiatrist about my fluctating moods throughout the months etc etc at the police station (I was s136'd) and later in the psych ward after I agreed to go on a voluntary basis, although he didn't actually diagnose me with something/stick a label on it.
I haven't felt suicidal lately, and I haven't self-harmed or randomly started crying (I do this a lot when I'm depressed), nor have I thought of suicide again, but I'm not exactly all fine and dandy either. I know pills don't solve problems, but I'm unsure whether it's because of the meds or whether I'm just generally getting better?
I've only been on them a week and it's supposed to be a long-term med (oh, joy).
