Anyone here hate "Twilight"

Definitely not my sort of thing, seems like another way of warping already misguided teen minRAB in to thinking all this b******ks is sexy! Though to be honest I've not seen or read anything about, but I do have the general gist of it all. And that guy, with the 'caved in face'........ WTF!

Saw it on sky movies and hated it,vampires glowing like diamonRAB in sunlight, wtf?,give me 30 days of night or the lost boys any day.

I dont like it either, i hate it when its so overhyped totally puts me off esp how ppl go gaga over Rob Pattionson and Taylor Lautner i dont see them as hotties or whatever etc

Its like HSM again

I sincerely doubt, even if New Moon is better, that it will be worth watching.
I appreciate that getting an actor that has played Brian Clough (so knows how to be direct and moody), Kenneth Williams (so knows how to be camp, like all great movie vampires, and has a fondness for lace and frills) and Tony Blair (okay, an actual blooRABucker) to play a vampire is a good move, but this franchise is not even broken because it was never good in the first place.

Twilight: New Moon is the worst film I've seen in ages. It was too slow, the lead character became unlikeable (Bella), the music was forgettable, there was overly cheesy dialogue and way too much use of slow motion. And I quite liked Twilight. There was definitely a sense of disappointment from the majority of the people in the cinema I was in yesterday, even with them mainly being teens. No wonder it only has a 30% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I give up with this saga and I'm part of the audience its aimed at.

Seriously though, I thought I was in the cinema for about 4 hours. Didn't help that the film started 30 minute after it was supposed to.

I totally agree, I love Twilight and so do a lot of my frienRAB but we're not crazed stalker fans who follow Robert Pattinson's every move.

I'll admit the movie has it's flaws (I haven't read any of the books), it's incredibly cheesy at times and I don't think Kristen Stewart is that great of an actress, but I love the movie regardless. I have no idea why, I just do. I've pre booked tickets as well, I don't think pre booking tickets to a movie you really want to see and know will be sold out very quickly is desperate at all.

Why oh why some people have to go out of their way to slate these books/films is beyond me. Most of those people are as "sad" as the obsessed fans that they moan about.

So what if people like it....just let them get on with it.

I don't see the hype either, and I've even read people comparing to the classic Wuthering Heights, Bella might be slightly like Catherine, in the way she has the look of a timid girl, but is fiercely manipulative
with the whole turn me into a vampire thing, I read she feels very strongly about this
. I only know about her character from Wiki, where I read the synopis' of the books, to try and see what the hype was about, without having to read the books. True Blood is alot better and shouldn't be compared with Twlight, as despite both being human/vampire relationships. Twlight is more like obsession, whereas True Blood, was more fascination turning into love. Also, I laughed when I heard about the Vampires, the sparkling sun thing is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard/seen. Whereas the True Blood vampires only make me laugh, when they say something funny.

I agree - although books 2 and 3 are OK cos there is more of a werewolf element to them and it's not all that vampire sappy "I love him I love him shite"

Yup, I agree there - it's kind of telling teenagers that obsession is fine!

Not only did I dislike her in the books I found her pretty unbearable in the movie - she does not do angst and obsession well...
I only kept reading book four
to see if she died in the pregnancy - she didnt.
I was disappointed. She really is a wet and annoying character. *

* Spoiler tag added just incase anyone HASN'T read book 4! :)

I've read the books and seen the film, and thought both were way overrated and overhyped.
Robert Pattinson is nowhere near as sexy as some people think

I'm sick to death of vampires now.
Twilight, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Cirque Du Freak

Can't wait till we find something else to obsess over

i can imagine how fans of 'vampire' fiction might get annoyed but lets face it, it's hardly a genre that gets much literary praise even when it's well written.

You gotta accept that anything aimed at a young teenage audience is not going to have the depth and complexities of adult fiction. It wouldn't work if it did.

the worse thing is not the writing but the incredibly insidious and loathsome way it has been marketed, encouraging the nastiest aspects of peer pressure and playing on the insecurities of teenage to take their money.
