Anyone here hate "Twilight"

Most normal fans (and by normal i mean the ones who don't stalk the cast memebers) will actually agree with people when they say that Stephenie Meyer is a cr*p writer, they will admit that the series has many many flaws, what people like is the actual story not the was she has written it. No one has ever claimed it to be great literature (if they have then they are fools) its just a bit of fun and there is nothing wrong with that.
The media only shows a small proportion of fans and the ones they do show are the crazy ones, the majority of people who like Twilight are not like that and i hate the way that if you say that you like Twilight everyone assumes that in your spare time you like to follow Rob Pattinson's every move.
As for whoever said her friend has already pre-booked tickets, so what? I have, simply cause i know its going to be packed on the day and its what anyone who wants to see it with any sense would do.
And as someone else has said it was only because Twilight was in the right place at the right time, that it became popular.

well - i personally cant hate a movie i have not seen.

but i could say that i have absolute no interest at all in seeing it! i have not seen the first and will never see the second. or the eventual 4th, 5th or 6th or 7th film - or god knows how long they will flock the franchie (afterall, they made 8 Harry Potter films out of 7 books!!)

from what i understand from the plot, it sounRAB like CBBBies/Milkshake version of soft sugar coated vampire films.

not really my cup of tea, and not really worth the waste of 2 hours of my life on.

I got the three books (when it was just 3) and only got halfway through Twilight and couldn't read anymore. I also hate how she potrays Bella its ridculous. The film is even worse.

Absolutely hate it. I've always been very proud of Hollywood cinema because it mostly gets reviews and movie profits right but New Moon - WTF? It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Luckily though, in about 5 years time there'll be some new Joey that girls start swooning over and this "phenomena" will be over.

Yes, hilarious episode, especially as my sister is a "goth," it gave us loaRAB of new ways to rip into her.

The first book was ok, the 2nd book was a pile of rubbish, same thing over and over as the first, so I stopped reading them. Watched the film and was very disappointed, the main actress is AWFUL!

Many people in my class LOVE Twilight, but I find it extremely irritating. I have to put up with my frienRAB day in day out talking about this Robert Pattinson person and this Taylor guy - AARRGG. So annoying !

I mean, people are saying that the series is overtaking Harry Potter. I cannot see this likely.

There is more of a variety of creatures, people, places and other things in Harry Potter, whereas Twilight (so I hear) just consists of vampires and werewolves - BORING.

Harry Potter also has a more complex and interesting story to follow, the films are brilliant and the books are magnificent :D

I saw a tiny clip of New Moon and the werewolves in that are NOTHING like the traditional werewolf - turn at the full moon etc...

So this Twilight thing, IMHO, is all overrated. It spreaRAB like a disease and, basically, infects teenager's minRAB about sexual situations and fantasies that is not healthy at all.

I don't hate it but i find people are so blind when it comes to it. The plot and Robert pattinson are just so weak about it.

People only watch it because Robert Pattinson is undoubtly good looking. The books are alright so i can't deny that.

I was intrigued enough to watch the first film last week and I wished I'd never bothered. It was absolute rubbish.
I can understand the fascination for some people with the whole Vampire/Werewolf mythology, but to see it realised in such a poor fashion by an inadequate author, translated into an abysmal screenplay, performed by untalented (but supposedly good-looking actors) angered me.
I did feel compelled to watch it all of the way through, just to see when it would improve and you know what? It did, as the titles rolled I felt MUCH BETTER, it was the best part.
Pity it was 2 hours of my life wasted which I could have done something useful with instead, like watch paint dry....

I watched the movie with no clue as to what it was about and thought it was ok, I then noticed the full media hype going into overdrive, 'acquired' the audiobooks and listened to them all in quick succession.

Bella is a pain the the proverbial and
Edward is a stalker
Jacob is a better character, but even he gets a little iffy come book 4

All that being said, upon re-watching the movie (and I have seen it probably 3-4 times - usually bored with nothing else to watch...) each and every time Kristin Stewarts portrayal just gets worse, she is a horrific actress with absolutely no on-screen chemistry, nor discernable talent - gazing dolefully into each others eyes does not constitute chemistry to me. Her voice displays no emotion, just volume control - quiet when distressed - loud when angry - all delivered with dead eyes.

However, I will almost certainly see the new movie - but pay to see it? not in this lifetime (but my best mate already has her preview tickets - so how desperate is she!!!:D)

Yeah, I love South Park & that episode is golden. How much do you want the goth kiRAB to destroy the vamps lol

Undoubtedly good looking?
He looks like he's had a paving slab dropped on his face.
I don't get the hype over the film (never read the book) or him.

Me & my gf watched it on Saturday because the trailer for new moon peaked our interest. We find it really boring & stupid.
The statement "You're a vampire" was made just as casually as saying "you're from Scotland".
For some reason they used that awful technique from chinese cinema where people climb walls without touching them by using wires.... it looks dumb.

Then there's the blurring, no need for it ALL the time.
Needless to say, we wont be watching the sequels.

I'm not picking on you GG but I just want to respond to your comment.

I think it's the manner in which the product (in this case Twilight) 'was in the right time at the right place' that is the problem, for me at least. It didn't happen by coincidence but through a systematic marketing plan.

And the problem lies in the fact that these products are often designed for no other purpose than to exploit the finances of a specific demographic and furthermore it's the peddling of 'creatively redundant' or substandard products by mass media that the more older and cynical amongst us will find repulsive.

It's certainly nothing new thing and in an age of consumerism, I guess we're all demographics worthy of exploitation by marketing teams.

And at the end of the day, the hacks seem to be making a lot of people very happy, so maybe i shouldn't be complaining. Just the way of the world I guess, c'est la vie.
