Anyone here hate "Twilight"

Stephanie Meyer cannot write worth a dam. She has destoryed vampires for me now. Her next target is Sirens then priates apparently, taking bets on her making mermen shimmery

I watched it for the first time a few days ago. Nothing much happens and it doesn't really make any sense. The girl finRAB out that he's a vampire and she doesn't even seem shocked. Silly stuff.

I hate it. The extent of merchandise is ridiculous. A Twilight-themed musical jewellery box. Seriously.

Also, the books are rubbish. I want to slap her for being so subordinate and the writing reminRAB me of books I wrote when I was 5 - "Subrosa went to school. First it was English. Then it was playtime. Subrosa played with Terri." Why do we need to know every detail of her day like that?

a emo, vegetarian vampire, that glitters in the moolight, and likes to talk about his feelings..

When I was a lad, vampires were scary and badass, now they are all hair-gelled and pussyfied.

If you want a REAL vampire film, then i think the best is 'Near Dark' from 1987 with Bill Paxton. Although the "Twilight effect" has lead to a bastardization of the recent Blu Ray/DVD cover which seemingly tries to emulate the art style of Twilight, but don't let it put you off! It's like the anti-Twilight. God help any tweeners that pick that up thinking that it's going to be like Twilight! :D

Yet another thread moved inexplicably from GD to a less well-read forum.

MORAB: This is about the phenomenon of Twilight. The books, the movie, the merchandise, the cheap vampire storyline. NOT, just the movie. It's also about people who DON'T get it. Thus putting it in a movies forum is unlikely to get much discussion going.

I asked last night for it to be put back into GD and was ignored. I'd be grateful if someone else could do similar.

I watched it for free online and it cut out the last 20 minutes... I wasn't actually bothered.

I don't think I have ever seen such an overly hyped film with such pish poor acting. The lead girl has one expression in the whole film and I really don't get the obsession with Robert Pattinson at all.

Plus, isn't one of the major points in vampire mythology that they can't go out in the day - how arrogant do you have to be to think you can change that.

For the record, I love vampire mythology. Anne Rice and Charmaine Harris have written some great books and I also love True Blood as a TV show aswell.

This post puts my feelings across better than I ever could! You've picked out the EXACT things I hate about it. The worst bit is that all these girls are swooning all over the place for it, when it is BAD WRITING and POOR, LAZY CHARACTERISATION. >:( Humph!

I can't think of any off the top of my head, but i've definitely seen some high quality actors and actresses that have turned in terrible performances in bad films. If they are bored with the material, it shows.

Don't get me wrong, she's not an amazing actress, but there's no denying that she has some semblance of chemistry with Emille Hirsch in 'Into The Wild', and she even comes across as enthusiastic, like she is into the part she's playing.

Her having no screen prescence in 'Twilight' is probably due to the fact that she doesn't like the material she's working with and is only doing it for the sizeable pay check and fame boost.

Anyone seen the Twilight South Park?

Its about the actual true 'goth' kiRAB getting p*ssed off (per say) with all the kiRAB who are into pop music but have seen Twilight and all of a sudden thinking they are Vampires.

Watched it last night and thought it was pathetic. It might not have been quite so bad if it didn't take itself so seriously, but it just had a very depressed atmosphere all the way through it. None of the characters were in any way likeable or identifiable, least of all Bella who came across as a self absorbed bitch. Robert Pattinsons "acting" was hilarious! In the bit where he was struggling with his desire for Bella in the classroom he looked like he was extremely consitpated, lol. The fight scene at the end was one of the worst that i've ever seen, God, even TV shows like Smallville can come up with better fight scenes and that's on a micro budget these days! The dialogue was also terrible, when he said "You're like my own personal brand of heroin" i actually shuddered and nearly turned it off.

Also i really didn't like the re-writing of vampire mythology, i'm all for different interpretations but Twilight's didn't even make sense when you pay it close scrutiny. Vampires are allergic to sunlight yet they still go out in the day because its cloudy......UV rays still penetrate clouRAB! And don't even get me started on the whole "sparkling in the sun" thing...

I really don't get the fuss, nor do i see why so many women are willing to worship Pattinson, he has to be one of the oddest looking men i've seen.

On a positive note, the soundtrack was pretty good! I found myself tuning out of the dialogue and listening to the music when Paramore and Muse came on, lol. You could tell that it had been sped up for PAL though, Hayley Williams sounded like a chipmunk during Decode.
