Any other Monk fans out there?

Monk is one of the best and funniest crime/drama/comedy shows on TV, and I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves, especially here in the UK.

Tony Shalhoub is a fantastic actor, and was hilarious in this morning's ITV1 episode, Mr. Monk on Wheels: "A square tomato. You can taste the symmetry!" :D He also has a great chemistry with Traylor Howard, who plays Natalie.

I know it ran for eight seasons, which is more than most shows manage, but it's a shame it had to end.

What are other fans' favourite Monk moments/episodes? (Please avoid any possible spoilers on the eighth season).

Mine are Mr. Monk on Wheels, Mr. Monk Gets Jury Duty,and the episodes in which he gets a persistent nosebleed, and is in bed with the flu. :D
 
I think Monk was great but I hate the way it's being handled by Hallmark. We won't get to see season 8 until net year by the rate that they go at. I also prefer Natalie to Sharona. I think a great episode is the child one, the final episode in season 3. It shows him in a totally different light and I can't wait to see season 8.
 
I love Monk too, so glad to see this thread. I have all of the 1st 6 seasons and love watching them. If I had to choose one favourite, which isn't easy, it would be Mr Monk and the Garbage Strike - sublime!
 
I like it, the acting's so bad its good but it's still watchable. I don't like the way Hallmark show it though with all the adverts. Drives me mad all the time! I've got the DVD of Season 1.

"Alice Cooper did it" - classic! One of the funniest episodes ever. :D

Also, Mr. Monk Gets Drunk was hilarious. :D
 
i love monk! its just so funny lol. i think my fav eps are the one with the garbage strike and many others and i also prefer natalie to sharona.

Why is season 6 being sown on bbc2 and season 7 an 8 on itv, did itv get the rights to the final 2 series? i thought bbc2 would show all the series since it has shown the previous few series.
 
BBC2 are still showing season 6 on Sunday mornings when it's not being taken off for sport!

Next season 6 episode is on BBC2 Sunday 25th July at 11.30am. It's episode 11 : Mr Monk Joins a Cult.

ITV are showing season 7 on Saturday mornings next one is episode 12 (Mr Monk and the Lady Next Door) at 10:55 Saturday 24th July.

ITV will also be showing season 8.
 
Glad there are other monk fans out there! Have watched all episodes from seasons 1 -6. Waiting for the season 7 DVD to be released, not long now. Should have watched on itv but didn't realise they were showing it until I'd miss some and wanna watch all the epsiodes. Dissapointed it had to end and hope thread stays spoiler free!
 
Thanks. Do you know when as I really want to see it a.s.a.p and if it's on in the next 6 months then I'll just wait but any longer and I'll be on amazon.
 
I nearly missed watching it on ITV1. If it wasn't for noticing it in my TV Guide that first week, I'd have missed it. I kept checking the BBC website, as they showed the first six seasons, and I expected them to show the rest.
ITV didn't exactly advertise it, did they? :confused:
 
Oh LOVE Monk!

Got all the series on DVD, watched them all and now starting from the beginning again
 
I love Monk! Great acting with great storylines. I did watch the final episode and I enjoyed it, I thought it was really good. Then again, that's biased, coming from a Monk fan. Don't worry, I won't spoil it. ;)

BTW, has anyone got any idea where I can buy season 8?

I've looked in Blockbuster, HMV, etc, but there appears to be nowhere where I can buy it. I'm soo keen to watch the series finale.
