In Canada we are subjected to the big-brother machinations of the CRTC who dictate that we should have hours of crappy Canadian-content plugging up our feed. Give me US-style freedom any day....
No Canadian cable or satellite provider that carries Fox News offers the news channel a la carte. It is only available grouped with other channels. This is why I think BEV will offer Fox News the same way. Maybe Fox News will be packaged with other news channels.
Even if you have a legacy package where you pay for multiple receivers; it's a flat $5 no matter if you have 2 receivers or if you have 6. It's the American systems that charge a MRF for each receiver.
Ummm... don't think so... that's almost as funny as the previous stand-up routine that made me laugh! If we only had Direct or Dish to choose from, we wouldn't have TSN or Sportsnet or CBC (main and Newsworld) or Discovery Canada (sheesh... no comparision there when it comes to Disco. U.S...) Nor would we have TMN/MC's originals... nor Showcase or Space... or local news and weather... and for general news, the closest we'd come to reasonable, unbiased reporting would be CNN... ouch! Almost as bad as Fox News... but not quite, thankfully...
Please call in and request that BEV carry TCM and other channels that you may want like UPN-HD.
We should not be treated like this by BEV. BEV continues to jack up prices, while ignoring our concerns, treating us badly when it comes to customer service and not providing an adequate on-screen guide.
Please call the Executive Office of Customer Relations at 1-866-317-3382 and avoid the dilettantes at 1-888-SKY-DISH (let's face it there are quite a few).
Please post it you have called in and tell everyone if and what other channels you have requested.
hey tony, i'm not sure if you've heard of them or not, but just so you know, the FCC is the regulatory body in the US and almost, but not quite, as strict as the crtc in certain aspects.
Look it up sometime.
You make it sound like we live in a communist regime. It's television. relax.
Nem, who says that canada, despite tony's idea, is not the Gulag
nope, it will be in Game Galaxy as part of Playin TV.
i wonder if BEV could offer a channel line-up where they would leave digital standard and premium movies where they are, and then charge "flat rates" for channels and you get to pick them, like the other poster here mentioned.
like 10 channels for $10, 20 channels for $15 and 40 channels $20...i wonder if a system like that is financially sensible.
Discovery Wings doesn't exist anymore. The channel recently changed formats and is now called The Military Channel. BEV does not carry The Military Channel which is owned by Discovery and is an American channel.
