Someone who wants more porn then complains when getting the "shaft"?

rjburke, who like nem, is only teasing.

I'm glad to hear that BEV is adding some new content. My hope is that with some new channels they will realign their weird themes and put music with music etc. As for some of the comments about missing BEV content think of the channels that *C is missing (e.g. Much Loud etc). All of the carriers have their issues. Rogers has their dopey PVR fee for instance. I have stuck it out with BEV because of content (for the most part) and pricing. When I have to switch from being an ultimate 7 customer to their newer themes I will probably leave because for me it is a $10 - $15 increase to keep my favourite channels. If they realign their themes to make more sense or offer channel bundling al la Rogers (10 for so much $, 15,20 etc) then I will happily stay with BEV warts and all. CBC HD, Fox news.. getting better BEV! :D

they have 60 more channels than starchoice does, and almost as many as rogers digital cable does.

BEV won't carry channels like Fox News, MSNBC, NFL Network, Military Television, Bloomberg Television etc. BEV seems to have a problem when it comes to carrying any new American channel that is approved by the CRTC. BEV's refusal to carry any of these channels indicates that the company is trying to discourage any American channel from trying to enter the Canadian market.

DJ and a few select others aside, there is so much Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt here that it would make a Porn Star gag! Here are just a few fool's gold nuggets I've mined from this thread:

If you want to see if a company is making money or not, read their Financials; either the annual report, or quarterly numbers. Don't assume that if you can buy another company that things are good.

If you watch a month's worth of Porn in a week, you have more pressing issues than a lack of programming choices...

I expect that when the channels open up as early as this November, based on that Quebec Constitutional Issue, we will see many, many more US and International Channels on all the carriers as bandwidth permits.

Finally, if more of you grey market/pirate Star Choice & BEV sat owners would pay for legit Canadian Sat signals, then our Canadian Sat Companies could afford to give us more of what we want...

speaking of new channels

I just notice a few weeks ago a new channel 299 " NAGRA " on the program guide starting coming sonn. does anyone know about this channel

just curious, any news on teletoon retro or boomerang launching soon or something similar?

from Bell:

"You will be pleased to know that your channel suggestion has been
forwarded to the Marketing Department for further review and
consideration. We encourage all viewers and potential subscribers to
forward any feedback regarding our service and channel selection
directly to us. Your comments assist us with fulfilling your customer
service and programming needs."

what that really means, I do not know

Nimiq2 - 82W

They are not available nor visible to regular satellite receivers. Only visible as a channel name on FTA receivers. Even there you only see the channel name, no picture or sound (because of obvious reasons)

I contacted Insightsports re: CGTV & GOLTV
--------------------
We are still finalizing our carriage deals with the different carriers.
Please contact Bell and let them know you would like them to carry Gol Tv, the more requests they receive, the faster we will hit the air. You can
check back to our website, we will post any new information there.

Thank you

Anyone with a FTA receiver willing to scan 82 & 91 and see if any hidden testing channels are there? I know CGTV was up there a few months ago(some channel in the 690's if i recall correctly).

Rgers is not losing large. They have aquired Fido and Sprint Canada and own a percentage of Cogeco and want to buy them outright. They are not in a financial problem at all. BEV is in no different shape eother. BEV has to start offering new channels or they will lose customers. I know you are such a pro-BEV supporter but is it right to not offer your 2 million customers the new channels that your competitors on cable are offering or is that a moot point? Make em buy your equipment and know that they will not leave right away after investing money into IRD's? Not offer new channels?
Hey I want Hustler Canada, AOV and Redlight District. I don't want to have to pay for a PPV movie I would prefer to sub to those channels which is what you do on cable. Again BEV is not doing much, I emailed them and called them last year about these channels and they told me that they take input from customers and review what people are interested in.
BEV won't carry those 3 adult channels because Venus PPV is pure profit for them, and to have these channels would take away the profit they make off of Venus.
Trust me adult PPV is pure profit, they buy the rights to those movies at a one shot deal and make money off of them each time someone orders them.

Hahahahaha!

That's funny... for a moment there, I thought you were serious! Then I realized that no self-respecting Canadian (or any non-American for that matter) could have such a delusional viewpoint. After all, living outside the U.S., we have the advantage of getting news that's not filtered through government-mandated "propaganda masquerading as patriotism"...

Good one... brightened up my day with a good laugh! :p :D

I actually saw the channels with a 6000. I cannot comment on the programming though. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what satellite they are coming from because it's just a regular bev receiver.

I called about TCM. The clueless CSR put me on hold for 5 minutes and then told me they already have it. He then gave me the channel number for Drive In Clasics.
