Any new recent good horror film

I have just watched The Mist recently on Blu-Ray over the weekend. There are two versions on Bu-Ray, Black and White, and Colour.

The Black and White version is a throwback to the 50s sc-fi movies which were popular in those days.

The Mist is a superb horror movie in black and white with an ending that is sooooooooooooooooo, well if you havent seen it, make sure u do!

You get the two versions on DVD too, yet to watch it in the black & white version though.

The Orphanage was mentioned a lot, it is officially getting an American remake :(

Never gone to a movie to be scared, I find it a hard concept to grasp. The only thing I think that could come close is that Bush biopic, but even that horror is coming to an end today.

Eden Lake is a good film. I really enjoyed it and it has it's moments.
I thought The Strangers was good and also the French version of it 'Them' is good.
I also thought Killer Movie and The Return was good, although they aren't gory films.
The Orphanage is a good film. I don't really like foreign films but I find Them and The Orphanage good. They are more scarier when they are in a different lanuguage :D

My top 5 horrors:

1. Halloween - just the music makes my hairs stand up
2. Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer - by far the most disturbing film I have seen
3. Saw - need I say more?
4. The Exorcist
5. Hostel - truly sick.

I'd go with Eden Lake, The Hills have Eyes (remake), Wolf Creek and the Midnight Meat Train from recent viewing. Also [Rec] is worth watching, not sure if Quarantine is as good?

House of Wax was rubbish, the strangers was a massive let down and the ending was stupid.

Hostel is an abomination - I hate Eli Roth with a passion that's quite scary.

1408, however, was actually pretty good. John Cusack alone in a room for the bulk of the film - class :)

but then i guess it's horses for courses really - what some people find scary, some people find tedious.

The Grudge still ranks as the film that's sent shivers down my spine probably more than any other horror film i've ever seen, but i know a lot of people thought it was rubbish.

I thought Blair Witch was utterly abysmal and laughable, but then a lot of people do find it genuinely scary.

My fave psychological/supernatural horrors are:

1) The Exorcism of Emily Rose
2) Amityville Horror (remake)
3) The Skeleton Key
4) The Shining
5) The Grudge - 2nd one a lot more jumpy!

My fave gruesome ones are, in no particular order:
Strangers, Saw 1, Hostel 2, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (both The Beginning and The Aftermath), Wolf creek, Vacancy
