Another leak on FUNimation's server: Phantom Ep.10 Leaked a day before Japan's debut

It's one thing to discover this on FUNi's servers and enjoy it for yourself, but it's something entirely different to then rip the entire thing and spread it around on your own servers. Hope FUNi sues them as well.

Strange that FUNi hadn't fixed everything yet.

The fansubbers despise FUNimation because FUNi's been more dedicated to taking away their "business" than any other company out there. Like it or not, the fansubbers are trying to make this a war between FUNimation and the fansubbers.

For all of our sakes, let's hope FUNimation wins this.

This is just sloppy. I'm assuming this was prior to the new security, but maybe the file shouldn't even be on any of their servers prior to the Japanese premiere. At any rate though, if the issue was serious enough to pull FMA, why not Phantom? So now we are where we are, I guess.

I'll also say here what I said at ANN...

It just jumped out at me that the wording is "a group" and not an "anonymous party," which is the wording they used to describe the perpetrator of the One Piece leak.

We can't have anything nice, can we?

These stupid fansubbers won't stop until FUNi is out of business and they're the only source of anime in this country. They probably FUNi to sue to play martyr.

I hate these groups. The only way to describe a group that would destroy legal methoRAB of acquiring media so they can have bragging rights over an illegal method are scum.

FUNi is about to bury itself in its own grave because they can't do a thing to patch security holes in their servers every time they upload a new episode on their site.

To FUNi: Instead of uploading new eps on your site, upload them on YouTube for once. That way they can't get to them.

You know, if this keeps happening, shouldn't it just not be on the servers until the last minute? I mean, is there a reason it neeRAB to be there so early?

And really this is the third time. Someone really doesn't like FUNi and FUNi should just do something about the security. Like, how many times is this going to happen.

(This is the last episode of Phantom too so I'm gonna be pissed if this gets pulled)

EDIT: Yeah, shouldn't these be on YT or hulu first instead of the site if this keeps happening?

Honestly, why are people thinking that a group was behind this? As pointed out in the One Piece leak topic, anyone could have easily found and downloaded the episodes by simply manipulating the URL, like in this example:

blarabroadlarabroadlah.com/episode1.flv
blarabroadlarabroadlah.com/episode2.flv

Which was exactly the pattern that FUNimation was using.

It'd be easier to get to them, if they were public you could just highlight the videos url and download it as an FLV, then convert it! This is one leak Mario probably can't fix, I'm mostly neutral on Funi vs. Fansubbers though I'm more toward subbers, they don't yank off videos or send cease and desist letters to everyone.

I'm just hoping that tugged the holes. You'd figure Toei's hissy fit would have shown the need for this.

I just want to watch the shows I like legally, and for others to have that opportunity. Is that a crime?

You're right. They could use Save2PC (Formally the YouTube downloader) just like using P2P torrent (including BitTorrent and Limewire). I just hate to be a "doom and gloom" prophet when it comes to US licensors losing money to fansubbers. Fansubbing is piracy.

Just to preclude anything getting out of hand, no more faceplam pictures or "this is why we can't have nice things" pictures. This is a serious issue, and neither of these things really adRAB to the discussion or does justice to what's happening.

On another note, I'm not defending anyone, but anybody with an axe to grind or a desire for attention could have done this.

Guys I think we should just be clear that FUNi is not "screwed." (More like "screwed over" if anything)

It's more the online service that's in danger if anything.
