Another BEV price increase?

why does bell try and play the used car salesman tactics (no offense to used car salesmen)...putting people through all this for $9...what a company.

If they have not screwed you round enough to get mad then you should try the price match option. Find out what is the best offer from competition . New customers always get a good deal . Speak to the retention dept at expressvu tell them your thinking of cashing in with the competition and your wondering what your 13 year loyalty with expressvu will get you. Most retention folks are aware of digital home Canada so mention those testimonials of 30% credit. Your don't have to say anything about closing your account. you just say you have offers from the competition and its got you thinking
You can go to the retention dept straight from their phone menu.

dj, that's the biggest pile of nonsense I've read in some time. Some of us are getting good deals with BEV and are quite happy with the service. Competition is great for the market. If you prefer paying full price with Rogers then please go ahead.

-Mike

P.S. Why do you constantly troll in the BEV forums? Moderators, isn't trolling frowned upon anymore?

I was told the receivers were distroyed and disposed off in order that they will never be in any system again.

what bs fees raise your phone bill to $40?
there are no additional charges besides the $3 increase, unless your on one of the older packages

nem, who likes snow as much as the next person, but come on now...

And of course our well paid politicians collectively as a government always try to convince us that there is hardly any inflation to talk about, while we see prices sky-rocketing all around us. If they were all on a fixed annuity, as I am, they'd have a better idea of how inflation gnaws away at your buying power. Next time around, I'm certainly going to be seeking employment paid by the taxpayer. Talk about having it made, "gravy train" in every sense of the word.

Hate to point out the obvious but have you thought of starting a new thread about that topic if it's so interesting to you? I think it might be better than hijacking a current thread.

It seems that certain folks have made it their mission on this forum to post about different providers in the BEV section.

Moderators - if I'm off base here please let me know and I will refrain from doing this in the future.

This thread is about ExpressVu price increases, and NOT about whether or not Rogers is better or worse. Please stay on topic.

I learned about it from DHC, I almost never read the Bill. I just check that the amount is the same as last month and pay it.

So the only CRTC regulation on the touch tone charge is how it's charged not who it's charged to.

Just to remind everybody this thread is to discuss Bell Express Vu price increase, not Bell's price...

According to what the agent told me it would show as system charge just like clients on the Legacy package already have (in their case it's a 5.99$ charge). I wonder if people on Legacy package will also have that increase...

It's not a hidden charge like it suggested previously...they clearly advised us on our bill that the charge will be comming. It was on the top paragraph of the one bill, not at the end like they usually do...

$6 wirecare maintenance plan, $0.70 911 charge, $2.95 RealPlus Extra savings plan, $5.95 Network Charge all added to the base $20 phone service (and add tax)

i dont think i'm gonna go with BEV now. i guess this was the icebreaker. i'm already going to be paying almost $60 for the 1st year, and $70 in the second year (Bell credit of $120 for 12 months only). add that to the extra 10 bucks i'd have to pay for hd channels, and then this $3 fee. Forget it--having RaptorsTV is not worth all that. it looks like videotron is gonna be my provider. besides, there's no need to get on a snow covered roof now.... half the battle is making it out to my home.

The Star Choice increase isn't relevant, really. Star Choice increases its fees annually in two stages; one for "regular" customers, the other for premium movie customers. Each customer only gets one or the other.

You will get far more value turning in your receiver than re-selling it on ebay. The 2 year free rental of a Rogers HD PVR is a pretty sweet deal. What's your 9200 going to be worth in two years, realistically? If Bell has moved to MPEG-4 for HD, it will become effectively an SD PVR. And, at 2 or 3 or more years old, it's near the end of its life.

You might also just consider revising the Bell packaging you already have and shaving off $3 or $5 depending on what you are subscribing to now.
