since the gulf is pretty much already fucked, i'd prefer that the atlantic didn't get fucked too.
 
That oil well is supposedly large enough that it would be flowing long after we died.

Because the longer the oil spill continues, the higher prices go from lost supply and certain political fallout, thus benefitting Russia.

what's terrible is BP is using all the same failed tactics that were tried in the oil spill from the 70's you'd think they'd try the one that worked first
 
Yes, it's bad but do you and others realize that it's not even close to being in the top 8?

There have been far worse spills and none of them have destroyed ecosystems.

And this is damn near the worst thing to happen to us in quite a while.

The most insulting thing in my opinion is that this is completely caused by man and is a prime example of his capacity for irresponsibility and carelessness.

I am fine with oil drilling if it is done excessively safely however these companies actively PUSH for deregulation of the industry. I will be extremely bothered if Obama turns out to be too conservative and cozy with industry to not let some real heads roll over this.

In any just world the BP executives ordering cost cutting that lead up to this would be killed.
