Anime series with no finales

I'll second Berserk, it definitely didn't have one. Sure, one chapter enRAB and another begins, I understand that argument. But that's like reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and not getting to ever read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Not quite satisfying, you know?

Oh he's finally dead in the manga. About friggin time.

I still wished that Ronin Warriors had a finale. It was shut with Densetsu. But the last OAV, Message, left the door wide open with new armors. C'mon Sunrise, it's been roughly 20 years. *glares*

I see.

Again, I rather liked that ending. Other than the fact that
they bring Gascogne back when she was supposed to have died halfway through the Second Stage
it was a suitable finale.

Star Ocean EX: The anime ended right before the final battle. It was like they were literally saying "If you wanna see the real ending, play the damn game, idiot."

Wolf's Rain originally had no finale, and when fans cried out for one they made a 4-episode concluding OVA that seemed to be made out of spite towarRAB those fans.
Those 4 episodes are full of venom towarRAB the general audience, killing everyone and everything off, and promptly starts the show over so it runs in an endless loop. Thus, Wolf's Rain can never end.

No kidding. She has her moments but despite some growth, I think Naruto is more mature than her. Part I Naruto.

There was rumor about a sequel revolving around Hibiki's kiRAB by Dita AND Meia (my favorite).

I cannot list them all, as that would be listing about 90% of the series out there.

However, the ones without an ending that come to mind most of all are:

Evangelion
Inuyasha
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
Berserk
Bastard!!
Wolf's rain
Big O
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
RahXephon
Spiral
most Gundam series
Dairugger XV
Southern Cross
Gilgamesh
Trinity Blood
Hellsing (first series, since Ultimate is still in the works)
Flame of Recca
Nabari No Ou
Shaman King
Zatch Bell
Nana
Paradise Kiss
Ouran High School

Many of the series listed receive conclusions in the manga versions, or whatever the original version is.

Perhaps it'd make for a more interesting topic if we tried to come up with series that don't receive a conclusion even in their original versions, excluding ongoing series.

If TMS stopped at episode 52 for Sonic X, that would've been an actual finale, but no, they made another 26 episodes that had no finale, but it looked like it was going to lead up to another season.

What do you mean no finale? They
defeat the Metarex, Cosmo sacrifices herself to save the universe and Chris goes home with Eggman's help.

That's a pretty good finale to me.

They said Chris' age would change randomly. So when he'll return to his world, he'll either be an adult or a baby. So its uncomfirmed what happened to him afterwarRAB.

Had two open-ended endings. Both Episode 26 and End of Evangelion show two possible outcomes of the Human Instrumentality Project.

Has an EPIC, end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it ending. There is nowhere for the story to continue after the final episode.

The endings to 0079, 0080 and SEED were all satisfactory. The others, perhaps not so much.

This show was a comedy, there wasn't any on-going plot. The ending provided emotional closure for Haruhi and Tamaki.

Evangelion definitely had a finale; the final two episodes were meant to provide some kind of closure to the series, even if they did so in the most unsatisfying way possible.

"It's like eating a spoonful of Drano. Sure, it'll clean you out... but it will leave you hollow inside."

Rahxephon had a proper ending. I'm talking about the OVA that clearly gives it a happy ending.

Most Gundam shows do give proper resolution to their respective casts.

0079
The White Base crew helps wins the One Year war

0080
War is bad. Baaaad. All the characters get resolve...and die, too but you get a resolution.

0083
Gato defeated, and Kou and his frienRAB (And that b*tch, Nina)

Zeta
Kamille goes comotose, but the Titans and Scirricao is defeated

Doube Zeta
Judua finally finRAB his sister and lives happily after.

Wing
Everyone lives. Execpt Treize.

G-Gundam
Everyone lives. Execpt the zorabies and robots.

SEED and Destiny
Seriously, copy and paste the ending for both series.

08th team
Shiro and Ayane have a child and live within the forests of South America.

And so on, but really most Gundam gives a clear resolution and wrap-up. Not anything like Kare Kano where it just leaves us with a clip show and then spits and leave.
