Ok dokie, after making the random suggestion to Kaiser I have his blessing to start an 'official' thread for the 'Anime Counterpoint' Podcast, the anime/manga podcast ran by Kaiser, Mynd Hed and MasakoX.

The most recent episode, focussing on series our pundits dislike to outright hate, can be found here.

Love Hina anime is soooo awful. I mean, the cam-shots look like it was done by a drunk.

Akamatsu's stuff is impossible for some reason to adapt right in anime. Love Hina was a downright disaster and Negima failed TWICE.

That Strike Witches's description that Kaiser gave made me want to blow my brains out.

However, most of their analysis was quite spot-on, especially with the aforementioned Love Hina and Negima part, with the former being quite worse than the latter. The reminder of Blue Sub 6 made me remeraber how it blew my mind how it ended, and how a high-octane waterworld adventure turned face with the guy not being so evil and turning it into some arabiguous ending that was more *Facepalm* than anything else in the world.

I'm pretty much with Kaiser (though opinion seemed to be unanimous) on hating the abundance of "She looks nine and dresses like a skank, but we say she's 18" shows. It's true that people in life can look younger than they are (the average person seems to think I'm anywhere from 16-19, when I'm 22) but not to that extent. Add in that these characters are fictional creations that can look however the artist wants and..... *shudders*

The best podcast of its kind, by 3 of my favorite abridged series creators, all of whom are also merabers on Toon Zone (with Masako obviously being less active). The best is the Toonami special with Sketch, meraber of Fauxnami and Toon Zone meraber with the (almost) highest nuraber of posts (not that I need to tell you who he is). As for the new one, I agree with everything they said about anime I've seen, but for the most part, if I don't like an anime, I don't watch it, and try to forget about it. That's why most of my posts are positive rather than negative. If I didn't like it, I don't want to talk about it. But to anyone who hasn't heard any of this podcast, subscribe and listen to all the previous episodes, especially the Toonami special, assuming you watched Toonami, which I can assume since this is Toon Zone.

Yeah I was thrilled to be on the counterpoint it was a lot of fun.

On the latest one... gosh I hate GT. I hate it sooooooo much. And I'm starting to get put off by Naruto's anime. It's just dragging along... at least the manga is good.

I didn't know about this podcast I'll have to keep an eye on it.

One anime I hate with a purple passion is Wedding Peach. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt.

Hey guys!

Not a new episode but a new promo for The Counterpoint. ^^

I'm experimenting in HD so I thought I'd give this a go. :3

Episode 8 will be recorded soon - this week it's on Anime Tropes (visual quirks in anime that aren't seen anywhere else).

Hope you don't mind, HC, but I took the liberty of changing the thread title to be more inclusive: if anyone has any other anime-related podcasts they care to discuss, that can now be done in this thread as well.

I'm actually looking to put together a podcast for my little YT account Black Dice Productions, however I would first need to seek those far more intelligent than me to make such a thing.

I'm so far behind on The Anime Counterpoint!

Every Monday, yes.

I've been listening to the Anime Pulse podcast for a couple of years now (current episode is 159) and have gotten some good anime recommendations from it (Daughter of Twenty Faces, anyone?). There is a language warning for it, though.

Well, there is Anime World Order, though I haven't taken the time to check it out yet. So, if anyone knows anything about it, I'm curious.

You seem to forget about the Daizenshuu EX podcast. Sure it centric to one anime series, but it still counts as they do talk a lot about the Dragon Ball Franchise.

Mike and the gang are awesome. 154 episodes and still going weekly. Check out this Sunday's episode 155 for their review of Dragonball volume 22.
