Analyst: MS lowering shipment of 360s in Spring in order to bring in $100 cheaper 360

Um.... the whole system has 512 mgb's of ram which the whole system has access to due to a unified memory architecture. This means the CPU and GPU share the ram. So if the CPU is using 128... the GPU can use 384. This has it's pluses and minuses.

The PS3 however has 256 megs dedicated to the GPU and 256 dedicated to the CPU.

Both have their different faults and positives.

If they do produce the Zephyr, there won't be 3 different 360 models. The current premium will become the new core and the Zephyr would likely be the new premium. HD-DVD would probably remain an add on.

Even if they don't make the Zephyr, but the do a price cut, Sony is going to be hurting. I'm a Sony guy who hasn't purchased a PS3 yet because I'm not paying $600 for one, but I will pay $299 for a 360 premium.

Oh come on. What do you expect him to say? "Durr, yes, a much better 360 will come out in a matter of months, but we still want you to buy the old versions that are out in stores now." Do you know what that would do to 360 sales until the new units actually launched? They could come to a standstill. Why would anyone buy a 360 knowing a better version will be out in a short time?

We won't here about the new revision of 360 until right before they are set to show up on store shelves. This is the reason MS is lowering shipment of the current 360s..they have to get rid of the stock before the newer versions come out or the stock will simply never sell.

And I'm sure the people that already have one will be flying to the stores to get a new one. Instead of lowering shipments they should just keep those and fix them and save people the trouble of having to wait a couple weeks to get it back.

I wouldn't mind an hdmi cable though, since I don't have a vga input I keep having to switch between component for the wii and 360 since my tv only has 1 component input and 2 hdmi inputs.

if they come out with the new xbox with an HDMI connector and it costs $299, I will totally buy it.

I am not even remotely interested in anything the PS3 has to offer

is there currently a way to transer data from one 360 hard drive to another? because if they release a larger hard drive i certainly want to be able to transfer everything that i have on my existing hard drive onto it (game updates, demos, game saves, music, etc)
