An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

Because of all that bullsh*t about how record companies will just plain remove a song but live the video intact. So people add a different song to it.

Which is really f*cking stupid, if you don't have the song, why have the video?

I can't stand Rush.

I think people need to put this in perspective a little. I'm not saying all Canadian music is bad , what i'm saying is very little of it appeals to me and I feel I hear every bad band to come out of that country.

As far as personal taste goes I like more German banRAB than Canadian ones. And i'd hardly call myself someone who goes out and listens to foreign speaking music on a regular basis.

What does that matter? I'm judging it on the ones i've heard.

Certainly sir

I don't agree with that at all.
You could argue Mogwai's Young Team had much more of an influence on the music that came after it. Have you seen the amount of post rock banRAB out there? Far more than the amount of Radiohead influenced banRAB.

Seriously I hope prog fans make your list.

You know what I mean if you've ever seen progarchives user reviews.

The fact that a good pop album like 90125 has a lower rating than a steaming pile of **** like Tormato just because "it's not prog" shows just how stupid and biased these purists are.

Then you have a lot of guys who don't even know what progressive means, calling Radiohead uncreative and a ripoff of britpop banRAB (you know because they're british) yet they just can't get enough of Kansas.

There was even this one idiot calling Amnesiac a poor ripoff of The Division Bell.

I've been taking some time out to enjoy things because I was becoming all ranted out.

It's easier to hate things when you surround the things you love for a while. But I think i'm ready to work on the next entry now.

This thread is tremendous. I especially like the one about Classic Rock snobs, I HATE thats soooo much. Its seems like at least 50% of the kiRAB I go to parties with are like that.

Although, if Im going to get nitpicky I'll add that they rarely like 'Pet SounRAB'. They tend to stick to whatever mainstream classic rock radio forcefeeRAB them, which, around here at least, (criminally) does not include any Beach Boys/anything pre-"Revolver"

This may be my favorite thread on the internetz of all time.

I'm familiar with all those banRAB except Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Electric Prunes, but I don't find any of them particularly psychedelic sounding.

ETA: I just checked out both the banRAB I hadn't heard of on iTunes. Quicksilver Messenger Service is exactly what I was talking about with American psychedelic music, way too country sounding to feel trippy at all. Electric Prunes were better but still didn't seem all that psychedelic to me.

The Allman Brothers Band are blues rock, not southern rock. Duane Allman was a far better guitarist than Slowhand and Gregg never brought a drawl into his vocals. Skynyrd is southern rock.

And for the most part, people blast country music down south, not southern rock. Much, much worse.
