An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

This is something I would have done about 7-8 years ago :o:

Now the idea of re-digitizing my CRAB at a 320kbs rate has entered my mind and I don't have the time nor the energy to even try.

12 : Rubbish Compilation Albums That Seem To Clog Up Every Chain Store So they Don't Have to Bother Stocking Proper Albums

Sorry , forgive me here but what would someone who bases their taste in music on a fucking TV advert for yoghurt know about having a life?

Same goes for this

So what criteria makes an album good for fucking BBQ's?
At what point does someone come up with a list of songs and think 'Right , well I have Gorillaz , Crazy Frog and Show me the way to fucking Amarillo. All I need is a theme to connect them'

And somehow we end up with BBQs ????? HUH !!???!!!????
I thought badly cooked food & beer made a BBQ anyway.

And as for these

Pink Floyd?
Genesis?
Yes?
King Crimson?

Nope apparently it's this...

On no account click this link Boo Boo , It might cause heart failure

Youtube comments: You will never find such a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Seriously though, you'll find the biggest idiots there, and you wonder why on earth they're watching videos of stuff they dislike so much in the first place.

Good, cos I was serious. It'd be nice to see a linked index at the start of the thread when this is finished.
If that's not too organised for the likes of you? :p:

False: Most radiohead fans know Pablo Honey is garbage. And also, we didn't bring up Radiohead... someone else did. It's the same thing as if I came out and said I think Meddle is average.

41 : BanRAB From The 70s With Rubbish Set Lists

I have already touched upon this subject in a couple of past posts so it's about time I went into it in detail.

As you know I am an avid collector of bootlegs and live performances and one thing that really annoys me is the attitude some rock banRAB have towarRAB choosing their set list to play at gigs.

The best way to illustrate this is to give you an example of one. Here is the ENTIRE set played by Deep Purple at the California Jam in 1974..

Burn
Might Just Take Your Life
Mistreated
Smoke on the Water
You Fool No One / The Mule
Space Truckin'

Now on the surface this looks like a tight little set played by your typical mid bill festival band maybe lasting 30-45 mins. However for this gig Deep Purple were the headliners and this 6/7 song set lasted JUST UNDER AN HOUR AND A HALF!!!!!!!!
Space Truckin itself is 28 minutes long. I mean come on , Deep Purple had 8 albums out when they played this gig are you telling me you can only manage to come up with 6 songs to play. It's not just them it's most big name rock banRAB from the 70s. I already mentioned The Who filling their set with the Tommy album in it's entirety and endless covers , and I could easily find examples of other banRAB doing the same.

One book I have enjoyed reading over the past year or so is a book on the subject to Hawkwind. In the book one of the band merabers (I think it was Nik Turner) says that during the 70s rock banRAB were erabarrassed to play any of their hit singles. Playing a song you had doing well in the charts at a gig was a big no-no back then. And it's true , Everybody associates Hawkwind with Silver Machine as it's easily their most well known song yet in the 70s it hardly ever featured in their live set. So it's ok to play loaRAB of blues covers , rock n roll covers , have long guitar / drum / keyboard / whatever solos , make extended versions of your songs so that they last over 20 minutes ... all that's fine. But play a song people have come to see you play? ...THE OUTRAGE !!!!

Lemmy was once asked by an interviewer why he played Ace Of Spades at every gig. Lem replied "If I went to see Chuck Berry and he didn't play Johnny B Goode i'd get up on stage and punch his teeth in"

I happen to agree with that. And if I ever go and see Motorhead they BETTER play Ace Of Spades.

where did you get that from??
i may be an indie ponce but by no means am i close minded
and corporate???
you seem to like post-grunge
so you've got no standpoint there
go listen to nickelback ass hole

84 : ARTISTS WHO THINK THAT BY HIRING A BUNCH OF EXPENSIVE PRODUCERS AND MAKING SOME SHITTY R&B / DANCE ALBUM THAT IT SOMEHOW QUALIFIES THEMSELVES AS BEING A SERIOUS ARTIST

If you really want to impress me with you new found realisation that you want to be taken seriously as an artist then how about doing it in a way that would actually produce something that would show it. How about writing a sequel to Tales From Topographic Oceans? ON YOUR OWN.

I won't listen to it but i'll give you props for the effort.
